Yep, which is all Spez and the other higher ups care about. Stop using reddit.

If that actually were the punishment, you'd actually see companies behaving a lot less evil very quickly. A tiny fine that isn't even a blip in the companies pocket won't do anything.
Yep, but it never will be a $2.5 billion fine.
The CEO bragged about building the submarine out of used parts and said that regulations were boring. He sealed his fate long before it happened.
I'm still waiting for a community-based project of passion like Reddit Enhancement Suite.
Lemmy Enhancement Suite when?! lol
Yeah, I agree. I'm a programmer, and I too would also expect the majority of people using decentralized platforms have a technical background.
It's because they don't know any better. The average redditor isn't exactly super smart, and half of them are even stupider than that!
So this was a great tactic because all the people that could have left reddit are still there yelling into the void.
I feel like those people are pretty dumb. Like, if they could all just leave and go elsewhere, they'd be much better off than yelling in circles and not getting anything accomplished.
The website is obviously run by a crazy fuckhead CEO, so might as well go elsewhere - especially somewhere decentralized where that can't be a problem.
Here are the results at my time of reading this, if anyone is curious: https://i.imgur.com/PcMywpx.png
I do almost all of my gaming on PC (and Steam Deck too). I am the 256th person to vote PC. That's 2 to the power of 8. lol
When you're a beginner, it's both. The further you get into your career, it's usually imposter syndrome. Then again the more you know, the more you realize you don't know.
True, but we're less than a year away from the next Ubuntu LTS which would have that fixed anyway I believe.
That's not entirely true. One of the lead developers of Lemmy almost blocked infinite scrolling being implemented before the other lead developer stepped in and approved it. This can absolutely happen with other features, other features can get blocked.
There's nothing wrong with having additional optional features through an addon, especially when those features are optional and also don't have to go through an approval process. That's the power of addons.
