greetings,

firstly, i hope this is the right place to be posting questions. if not, i'll delete it

Upon replacing a ceiling fan with this one (20 lbs), I learned that the box isn't rated for a fan: images

  1. would you go forward with the installation anyway?
  2. Can i make this apparatus fan rated by attaching a different box to the mount?
  3. If not, how would you go about removing the old mount?

Years ago, and also last year, I bought this duxtop model from Amazon:

No issues. It’s been about 5-7 years. They’ve since introduced new (to me) models:

They’re worth looking into because they have more power levels.

thanks for taking the time and effort to write this response. my knee jerk reaction is "meta bad unga bunga 😡" but i like your take. it's measured.

also i wanted to share how i was relieved when discovering that waveform was federated with most. i signed up with beehaw at first, and though i like it, waveform feels like a place i can call e-home
