Man, are people really gaming on Ubuntu Core? I thought that was for IOT/industrial applications

Maybe it’s handy for Cyber Cafes and the like?

+1 for The Core, seeing Rat’s antics in that movie sparked my passion for computers that blossomed into a tech career

It’s worth it for the theme alone!

Seems like that’d be a lovely environment to remote work from, especially if they had rules about noise levels during working hours

I can respect the immutable distro ethos, but I know enough about it to know it's not for me, might give it another run on a gaming handheld/dedicated living room gaming machine where I won't care nearly as much about building gitlab slop or endlessly tweaking my shell/UI

Animals are not equal to humans because who ever heard of a boomalope leather cowboy hat?

I made the jump from Manjaro when a bunch of their maintained repos started to ... corrode? for lack of a better term, other than that I tend to adapt to whatever my workplace chooses, last place loved Ubuntu, current workplace is all about RHEL, so i'm not going to argue

hey, i'm a proud parasite host, I have 2 folding rigs, a desktop, and a game server I serve as a host for, as well as a couple of laptops, a phone, and a tablet, hell my job is to tend to work parasites so that others can experiment on them to make new parasites!

Yeah, I’d be interested to see what difference in design or structure CachyOS has in place to avoid that gradual drift into breakage I experienced with Manjaro

But ultimately it’s a passion project powered by a bunch of lovely enthusiasts, if I get another 2 years out of it and than make another hop it’s not going to be the end of the world

It’s almost like anyone with any cultural reach and appeal would rather gnaw off their arm than be the puppet of a bunch of octogenarian war criminals
