BRICS won't be as successful as G7 despite the growing importance I think because India and China are at odds with each other unlike G7 where there are no internal disputes.

I don't follow politics but yes I do use a RSS reader. Also you suggested US centric stuff and I don't live there.

But yeah I get your point

Maybe I need to expand the pool of sites I frequent. Any recommendations?

I think you are confusing soulless with dead. It's more alive than ever yes but it has become monotonous. The original feeling of individuality of websites has been reduced to the monotonity you see when you visit different websites. For example, Twitter, Reddit, Instagram or even their federated alternatives like Mastodon and Lemmy (I haven't used Pixelfed) are designed in a similar way to that users feel familiar and don't get turned off from using the website. This is just one example I can think of now.

I would add Digilocker as well. Completed removed my need for a wallet. But it's not as great as these 2

I always use Github to check if my IPv4 DNS works lol (using ping). So it's definitely a feature /s

UPI is the best mode of payment. I doubt anyone can change my mind.

Why do you want them to switch from Signal? Federation? Other than that Signal's great. Idk specifically about Signal bridge but I'm in a room with Telegram and IRC bridged and both bridges work pretty well. The room was bridged to XMPP as well but XMPP bridge was weird (resent random messages sometimes) so we removed it. Give it a try though and if possible tell me how it works? I'm curious :p
