First time i heard about the Pergamon museum was when i was in Berlin and it already seemed impressive on the pictures onlinre, so despite their dubious ownership I might check it out next time.

The US might have gone dumb, but that does not make China good.

Totally agree, my point is that there are a lot of countries who don't have the wealth to stop their co2 emissions overnight and because of China's massive investments in production facilities the cost of solar and battery tech has come down by so much that new fossil fuel energy plants are increasingly less interesting.

Renewables aside, there is also a greyscale when it comes to fossil fuel: old coal plants are worse than new ones (just like with a car). Going from coal to oil or gas can also lower emissions. But either way, the fact that China has access to cheap fossil fuels really counters the progression. It'd be better to stop using fossil fuels altogether.

The west (previously including thd US) also did a lot in that regard, but the reason I wanted to say I'm glad with China (about this) is, that if it were just Europe pulling the cart, Earth would be screwed.

O germany,

the part that is shown in the Pergamon Museum today is the smaller, frontal part. The larger, back part was considered too large to fit into the constraints of the structure of the museum; it is in storage.

Meat alternatives are often scored on how environment friendly they are per gram of protein, same with milk alternatives. Though i suppose better per kg of product, you'd still miss important data if you'd only consider proteins.

Likely depends a lot on what you feed them, but since chicken and turkey are better for the environment than beef, i'd put my money on ostrich and emu being the better choice.

I am so glad China is proving betting on renewable energy isn't only morally the right thing to do but also economically the smartest thing to do. That will really help battling climate change now the US walked out.

The Germans actually did something like this in the late 19th century lol,

Security when flying within europe can really differ from airport to airport though. I've had times they made a big deal out of everything including dogs sniffing everone all the way to my bag just went through a scanner but nobody watched the screen.

I just put up content that I find interesting and that I think others might also want to check out.

Nothing wrong with that. Just realised i hadn't seen something not serious posted in this community i wondered whether it was because it wasn't posted or because it was but got removed because of a rule.

Do it have to have an account on piefeed to post there?

No it's an fork of lemmy i believe (or slightly edited?), not sure how it works on the backend but you can subscribe, and follow, and post and comment etc, just as with any regular lemmy instance.

Thanks & you're welcome.

Talking AFK is probably a lot better in this regard

Also when someone doesnt understand something the way you mean it to you'll likely notice in a heartbeat so you wouldn't end up in some heated argument while you agree ;)

An early documented example is Broadway in New York City, which follows the Wecquaesgeek trail which predates American colonization.

Nice
