After a bit of digging it looks like Newag has had a steady supply of government contracts:

25.01.2023 - 10,7 billion PLN (2,5bn EUR) for EMUs

24.07.2024 - Newag CEO mentions current contracts with PKP Intercity total 9bn PLN (2bn EUR)

21.11.2024 - 7,7bn PLN (1,8bn EUR) for hybrid MUs

23.06.2025 - most recent one I could find, 270 million PLN, EMUs for a local railway

Stock is up 260% since June 2022

In Poland we don't negotiate with corporate terrorists, we throw money at them. 🙃

The government will enact the will of the people, whether the people like it or not.

Oh hey that's my F1 Manager calendar when I forget to set it up manually and it just puts sprints on random weekends.

Would be cool if we could see the view from stewards' camera for these more meaningful lap deletions. I get that stewards equipment probably isn't plugged into the broadcast gear, but it shouldn't be too hard to show a single frame for 3 seconds.

For once a sprint won't spoil the results of a main race, today we're watching motor racing, tomorrow - boats.

I wonder if Leclerc can challenge Verstappen for a podium, Ferraris had great pace on low fuel this season.

If I understand this correctly, according to UK government's logic, Discord's actions are comparable to a store selling alcohol to (potentially) thousands of minors who are wearing fake beards. What sort of punishment shall befall them for this misdeed, I wonder...

Weekend is supposed to be quite cool and overcast with possible rain, so C1 may be hard to switch on. Hopefully we'll see some varied strategy.

The difference is that CS is an established game with a huge community that's not going anywhere in the foreseeable future, and there are ways to cash out valuable skins (or at least buy something on Steam with that money).

This scam was founded by a random techbro, has at most 2 people online, and will shut down in a month.

Wilder World is an immersive 5D Metaverse built on Ethereum, Unreal Engine 5 & ZERO. Explore, create and trade in a vast virtual environment with procedurally generated NFT vehicles, photorealistic graphics, community ownership and sovereign AI.

lmao, "what if Star Citizen, but crypto?"

Obviously fries represent the western civilization. Frying oil is the chaos dragon of woke left that means to destroy the fries, but will instead transform them into something even more beautiful, an entity of culinary perfection. But you would already know that if only you had bought my online course. sob It's so sublime. sob

Good stuff

  • From a technical perspective (cinematography, CGI) it looks pretty neat
  • Racing sequences are cool, and since they used a lot of real footage cars don't look like they're just CG models on rails
  • I liked the sound design overall
  • A couple references for F1 fans, but it's not overwhelming

Not good stuff

  • Brad Pitt plays Brad Pitt
  • Story is duller than a hard tyre after 50 laps
  • Character development was abandoned as APXGP decided to shift focus to next year
  • Why is everything so shiny and glossy? Feels like I'm at Apple's HQ, maybe that's intentional?
  • Sonny Hayes needs to be tried in Hague. Sure, he isn't meant to be some paragon of virtue, but his bs should have been called out more.

"It sets a precedent not only in F1, but also for all the young kids that are watching us, F1 drivers, drive and conduct ourselves. They've seen today how a 4 time world champion behaves." ~ Lewis after Seb rammed him in Baku 2017.

On one hand many countries will invest in heavy industry, manufacturing, and fall back to fossil fuels.

On the other hand, economy overall should slow down and consumption of non-essential goods and services will drop.

I'm not expecting any definite answers or numbers, of course, just some food for thought.

As seen on the outside of turn 10
