aw fucking hell, my condolences
Absolutely not wrong imo. I think that's why many people don't last long at that job too - it's just way too morally dubious even if you're a bit clueless about social justice issues.
cw: suicide attempt
During one of my appointments I overheard one the emloyees asking why they can't open the window to air their area out. They were told by a coworker that they missed all the drama on their day off - the windows were all locked after someone tried to jump out in the middle of their appointment.
Interesting how the "errors" get attributed to the lowliest of workers instead of whoever decided to outsource hiring of benefits assessors to private companies, which then took up a gig economy model resulting in perpetually undertrained staff rushing to get through as many cases as possible every day until they burn out and get replaced with new untrained people. It's cheaper that way you see!
Before I started receiving benefits and was still looking for work, the only jobs in my area were "benefits assessor" for the DWP - they were always hiring. Gotta give eternal praise to our corporate overlords for creating so many jobs for us undeserving lot
Bokura works I think
My ny's resolution is to be more mindful of how I embody (or don't) revolutionary optimism in my everyday life
