Arch wiki is the documentation gold standard

Definitely. Why not use something off the shelf! That by itself would make it much more approachable
I've been on arch around a year now and also considered the jump to NixOS. I was actually dual booting it with arch for awhile and I found pretty quickly that the shit documentation was a huge turn off for me. I ended up nuking the nix partition and reclaiming it for arch.
Kinda giving me Dexter's brother/Ice Cream Truck Killer vibes.
Another for radicale. Been using it for years now. Its great.

I missed that news. So photomator is probably dead and going to be folded into photos.app.
I use gnu stow and my self hosted got forge to manage and back up my config files. With a 3-2-1 backup strategy on the gitforge of three copies, at least two mediums, with one offsite.
Same here. luks encrypted drive in my work locker.
Right now I sneaker net it. I stash a luks encrypted drive in my locker at work and bring it home once a week or so to update the backup.
At some point I'm going to set up a RPI at a friend's house, but that's down the road a bit.
First marvel thing I've wanted to watch in actual years.
