I think that's the date - the 42nd of January.

She seems nice.

Then you obviously know nothing about Mormons.

The church covers up sexual abuse on a routine basis.

Mormonism is inherently homophobic, transphobic, racist, misogynistic, and emotionally abusive.

I get that you're probably just focusing on the aspect of their proselytizing but their end goal is nefarious and oppressive.

Those damn "Minky Couture" ads do the same thing - 100% designed in the US. 100% made in an Asian sweatshop.

Still not as cringe as the Zach Wilson bug control service ad that plays at the cinemas here in Utah, though.

Was it raining, perchance?

Aside from the politics of the US being a Christofascist hellhole ruled by rapists, child molesters, and hyper-greedy corporations, the F-35 is a mess.

They are using parts from scrapped jets to build new ones and to service current ones because there's a lack of parts, etc to build 100% new.

Is the BBC being staffed by Americans? Or are they just using ChatGPT and doing minor edits?

That's not fair. Lots of Americans across all demographics are incredibly fucking stupid, not just gen Z.

The Olympics have never placed ethics or morality above a large payday.

It's usually cleaned up pretty quickly. The heavy snows are usually earlier in the winter.

The second half of winter is a nightmare for public transit users - high winds and crazy wind chills. Standing out in the elements (even bus shelters) when it's below zero Fahrenheit is not a good time.

If you want to help directly fund fascism, Home Despot is the place to shop.

Right away, just from a stats POV, you shouldn't start him when they play the Bills and, probably, the Patriots. That's 3-4 games of just very few fantasy points.

The Jets may even be punching down this season in the East when they play the Dolphins.

The team is a wreck and Tyreek is the epicenter.

My PS5 is a little over two years old and I've maintained it well but over the past couple of months it has started overheating.

I've cleaned it out thoroughly and it's shutting off after less than 10 minutes of playing. I don't always get the error message either.

When I start it up some time later (days later), I'll get a split screen that shows the right half of the screen twice. Once it repairs the console and USB external storage and reboots, the screen is fine.

Nothing around the PS5 has changed. If anything, I've given it more space and airflow. The fan seems to be working fine as well.

I messed up (self.linux)

I renamed one of my partitions and now Mint won't boot up. I go into recovery mode, run a file check and get the following:

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA!

I need to send a sensitive email anonymously to a VP at work. I was given information I should not have but it's important to get it to this person. I don't have much trust in local management to address the situation. I also need to protect myself because I won't be ready to leave this job for a few more months.

Any recommendations? It can be a simple one and done or one that's good for a limited time/number of emails.

TIA!

EDIT: I appreciate the recommendations! I will start checking them shortly. I'm hoping we can fix the situation locally but knowing that you recommended these helps me feel better about going this route if it becomes necessary.

EDIT: Thank you for all the comments and suggestions! I'm sorry I can't reply to everything but I have a list now of hardware to look at. I appreciate that everyone has been so helpful! I'll post an update once I buy one and get it going.

I've been running a Plex server for music off my gaming laptop for a few months and (I think) I'm ready to take it further - that is, I'd like to have the server running on its own hardware.

At this point, I'd just be running a music server, but I know I'll want to add more services.

The first would be something like Google Drive - I'm working with a couple of other people on business plans and I'd love to self-host our files and the software (like LibreOffice) to edit them.

I'm comfortable with the software side and I'm finding lots of options, especially in this community.

The hardware side... I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by all the options and I don't know enough to judge the search results.

Any recommendations for hardware or links to guides would be appreciated.

I really struggle to make friends and being an adult trying to make friends is even worse than when I was a kid in school.

It appeared that I had made a friend but they turned out to be kinda toxic. I made mistakes too but I never tried to hurt them or manipulate them. They've made me feel like they're embarrassed to know me. Like our friendship had to be a secret.

Now, I finally managed piss them off that they don't want to talk to me anymore. Part of me is glad but part of me feels lonely. Very lonely.

I've been in a long distance relationship for quite some time now and we are waiting for her to finish school next spring before we move in together. It's difficult for me to think that's really going to happen. She reassures me often that it will.

I should be happy with that but nothing beats seeing a friend face-to-face regularly and talking to each other.

I feel sad and lonely and selfish. I don't want to hurt myself but I do kinda wish I was dead.

Is there a way to download or otherwise use Brainscape flashcards without paying (imo) high subscription prices for their "brain science"?

I'm going to see what I can do on my own but I'm low skill so any help would be appreciated.

TIA!

I bought a Grom about 3 months ago - my first bike.

I love it, except for the mirrors. I drive a lot on one lane roads and not being able to get a quick glance before turning my head is driving me nuts.

I'm guessing bar end would be best but trying to find good reviews (that is, not LLM BS or not so subtle marketing disguised as blogs, etc) has been challenging.

I would love to hear what y'all have to say.

I bought a pair of hypoallergenic pillows a couple of weeks ago and immediately started having a reaction to them. I washed them and no change.

I looked at what they're made from and I think it might be the Lyocell Tencel in the cover - made from eucalyptus trees.

Everything else about them is the same - afaik - as my other pillows.

Anyone else experience this or know anything about it?

I've been lurking here for a while, trying to learn and set up my own stuff. I'm starting off with music. I have a few thousand files in different formats and plenty of duplicates.

I already have an Emby server set up and it works very well.

However, is there a music manager that will help me find and eliminate duplicates?

I'm using Linux Mint and I'm still figuring out how to set up the various users and groups so that the software can access where my music is stored.

I'm thinking Lidarr but - as mentioned - something about setting up users and a media group and doing the permissions is not clicking.

For Emby to work, I've made the music directory a shared location and opened guest access.

Any pointers to step by step guides on any of this would be very helpful as well.
