Massive thanks to everyone who joined me on last night's stream! VOD on the attached link if you’re interested :) I genuinely had a great laugh chatting to you all while I crashed the hell out of everything.

Onto the review side of it, BeamNG.Drive Rally is up there with one of the best rally experiences you can have in today's day and age. The only few things that hold it back currently are two things in my opinion:

1. There aren't any official cars. All the cars are generically branded and (petrolheads may get me on this) engine sounds are ficitional. However, they are still hecking great fun and this doesn't take away too much from the experience.

2. This is not a fault or a bug, but there aren't enough variation in rally stages yet. Given that it is still early release, there are only a few stages to choose from, with only 2 out of 9 being gravel/mud. However, the ones that are available to choose from are brilliantly good fun.

The rally mod strikes that balance perfectly in that because of the realistic physics and damage model, you really connect with the car and stages you're driving because you are fearful of trying anything extreme- though if you do try something wild and it pays off, the feeling of accomplishment is an awesome one.

Best of all? The game is only £20 ish. Hands down the BEST value for money driving game you can get available today and this is a hill I'll happily die on.

Bravo BeamNG devs, bravo.

Please forgive my potential whoosh, but I’m kinda out of the loop and also not American- what deals are these firms cutting with The Whitehouse? I can’t really gauge exactly what they are from the article. Can some kind person ELI5 for me?

Honestly, I was never that inspired with Nacon and Kylotonn’s efforts. They all just felt a bit soulless and bland to me- they didn’t inspire the intensity and immersion that Codemasters manage to put in their games.

Seriously, fuck EA. No doubt they had a hand in this

We’re not either to be honest, mate

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

😂 what’s a little dust here and there huh

(Hadn’t spotted that though, ta)

A lot of people never realise (and with good reason) that this car tried to compete in rally- and it could have done SO well if it wasn’t for one simple flaw- the badge.

Hope you enjoy it, let me know what you think.

I’m in the middle of making some rally videos for it- I tried one of the maps once and was blown away- I haven’t played any more as I want to save my reactions for more videos, I think it’ll be fun to do!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

I’ve heard of this! I keep telling myself I’ll set aside some time to try and replicate some Group B cars to put into it. I know there’s a few mod packs that do that currently but they just don’t drive well at all :/

Honestly, I think this game is the up there with one of the best sim racing games out there today

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Hell yeah! Plenty of AI race mods that add races to existing courses/stages on the maps, not to mention THE NEW RALLY UPDATE (many excite) that they just added with full working pace notes, proper stages and cars is absolutely epic

I went through every single pebble that came out and never had this issue…maybe I got lucky?

Sorry, you’d watch what exactly?

The fastest stage in EA WRC? (video.gamerstavern.online)

Title and thumbnail genuinely isn’t click bait- if you play this game I do think I’ve found the fastest stage in the game! Anyone agree or disagree?

Reading the comments…let’s not turn this into her fault huh? How’s about the fucking lizard in a suit with wife and kids shoulders the blame here?

Easily one of my favourite, hair raising and break neck rally stages across any game I’ve played, I reckon.

Logitech have not long announced they’ve made a racing chair- I know there’s probably some you can get a lot cheaper but it looks neat! I’m in desperate need of upgrading to one of these- I currently use a desk which is not remotely suited to the job. Too high, can’t match my chair to the right angle/height, wobbles with the force of turning the wheel which in turn also wobbles my monitor etc…please tell me I’m not the only one with this setup? 😆

Hey everyone! I did a short stream where I drove Group B RWD for The Gamer’s Tavern Rally Championship in EA WRC. I drove the Lancia 037 and spent most of the time on full lock in some blizzard conditions and also mostly airborne 😂 I brought back the face camera so you can see how much I look like a dork while trying to fight with the car… haha. I wasn’t fast enough to catch EighthLayer this time…

We talk about driving assists in rally games using controller, we talk about weight distribution and brake bias, and we drive the hell out of this thing!

Feel free to comment and join in, I love talking cars, driving styles and all things sim racing with people!

Anyone interested in this? I know it isn’t sim racing but you gotta admit, sometimes it’s ridiculously free after spending hours of meticulously trying not to crash a car to just go “ah fuck it! HNNNNRRRG” steer into opponents
