So many duplicated communities in Lemmy makes managing subscription impossible.

Never going to happen. Not a chance with the current congress.
I’m going to address a single point here; these people grievances are at this point, unfortunately, the consequences to their own actions.
Hillary had a clear path for moving these rurale areas into future looking manufacturing jobs, and people who would have been helped by those exact investments laughed her off and voted for Trump in trove. Then Trump closed plenty of factories while just boating he’d save jobs the same days those jobs were laid off.
The government didn’t fail them. They failed the government.
We’re about to find out exactly how much money memeing is worth.
I did use it a few times, but only as a 1-to-1 message. The inbox was more efficient anyway.
I think they had subreddit general chat but I’ve never used that.
I’ve seen it used for live events (think press releases or keynotes), which I think is probably the best use case for it. As a general chat platform it’s pretty useless.
A lot of island nations have extreme import taxes on cars. See: every Caribbean island.
In case you’re serious; in most places in the world, cars are a luxury and taxed as such. In island nation in particular, imports are also very expensive in general and import taxes are most of their revenues.
TLDR: tax the rich, poor don’t need cars in sane cities.
