doubt it because lemmy is very obscure right now. Also that's how r/piracy got big in the first place.

The way social media (in this case lemmy) becoming big and maintaining it are 2 different things.. The strategy changes once you become big, but until then there should be no problem with being more helpful.

Governments could, but is not worth the hassle. It's going the North Korea way and it has more disadvantages than advantages.

You can't stop complete piracy without restricting the tools of the piracy, which is computers. Even before internet was mainstream piracy tool, there was piracy (cd's and stuff).

I don't get the reasoning behind the poll. If the admins don't allow to shut r/piracy down then just post links to pirated material. It's closed.

Wasn't this sub in danger of being closed a few years ago? So let them.
