This implied argument, which is the real argument

Ah, so you're calling them a terrible person because you misunderstand what's going on in their reply, gotcha

There are states like Texas that don't have income taxes, but they make up for it by taxing everything else through things like sales and property taxes

Fun fact: last I checked (~2 years ago) TX was like 8% more taxed than famously tax-happy CA, which pissed some Texan dickheads off when I pointed it out

That explicitly states that the States cannot punish people without due process, it does not change that the constitution has always applied to individuals

You're looking at an amendment that's targeting the end of slavery and incorrectly applying it to all people

[–] gamermanh 6 points 2 months ago (3 children)

That's not what the 14th amendment does

The 14th provides birthright citizenship, outlines that states won't imprison people without due process, covers congressional proportionality, and makes insurrection/treason cause for not being eligible for office

Seriously, take a constitutionality class, you need it

An important thing to note is that 50% don't pay federal tax, as you said here

They still pay sales tax and taxes of that sort (which actually are significant), just not the federal income/property taxes

Go ahead, explain, what did the guy answering her question do wrong, exactly?

[–] gamermanh 6 points 2 months ago (5 children)

At the time "the people" meant "the states"

Please take a government class before continuing with your understanding of the Constitution

Gemini is actually legit the best LLM I've used locally for anything, consistently faster and more accurate than even models taking up about double the resources

Shame it's stupid locked down even in my ollama installation and it's near impossible to get it to do something daddy google doesn't like. Ah well, works really well for checking my garbage config files lol

[–] gamermanh 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I use it daily on Firefox on Linux and on Windows and on android using Revanced

It works exactly like YouTube but without ads and with sponsorblock

Your argument is based on water as a substance, not as a molecule

Water cant be just a molecule, as the relationship between molecules of a substance at different temperatures is what makes something a solid, liquid, gas, or plasma. Water is the liquid state of H2O, and thus one molecule of that would just be a single H2O

You know what else dries up? Water.

That's just the H2O changing phase to gaseous, it doesn't stop existing. I'd personally classify humidity as "wet", as would most people I've met, so it's still wet after "drying"

[–] gamermanh 4 points 2 months ago

Absolutely insane that anyone would do this

Meanwhile I'm dropping my config into my local AI asking "why the FUCK do I suddenly have no permission to write to a folder I've been using for days?!?!" Only to have the air go "hey dipshit you put /data/downloads in one spot and /data/download in the other, that's why, try not making typos that are real words in the future (I told my tech support persona to be mildly annoyed and in need of more coffee because I've never known an IT person not to be those things)

Installed Debian for the first time in over 15 years the other day for my new homelab, forgot to add my user to the sudoers file, went to use the command

Error: User is not in sudoers file

You're no longer ratted out by Debian it seems, a sad day
