When piefed 2.0 drops, i might even have TWO commits!

Don't worry, i'll save you a half-commit

fxomt (1 commit)

I'm basically the backbone of this project now. ๐Ÿ’ช

@[email protected], try seeing about your problems now? Maybe it's fixed now

I'll keep my suggestions small:

  • Use a flake, absolute life-saver
  • Maybe split it into multiples files? Since your config is one file and 600 lines long
  • Check out home-manager. Very good for configuring your home directory

Iโ€™m more bothered about seeing or being associated with spam and/or an instance full of toxic people. Iโ€™m not a spicy person - or so Iโ€™d like to think.

Zip's a very trustworthy instance, all admins know about it; so i doubt anything wrong will happen in that regard ๐Ÿ˜‰

can you elaborate more?

  • Great admins. I've talked to demigodrick and he's a good fellow
  • Monthly transparent reports about the instance
  • Image proxying
  • Relaxed defederation policy

Only negative thing i can name is that it blocks the UK, because of a law they don't want to risk

Depends; Closest thing to lemm.ee? Maybe lemmy.zip?

Here's my own choices:

  • lemmy.dbzer0.com (totally unbiased ๐Ÿ˜)
  • lemmy.zip
  • quokk.au (not lemmy, piefed)
  • sopuli.xyz

Dbzer0 and zip are probably the closest thing to lemm.ee in terms of defederation.

Iโ€™ve seen a lot of people say the piefed API is similar to the lemmy api.

Indeed. In the 94-98% zone, can't remember which exactly.

Will it become more distinct as time goes on, or do you plan on keeping them similar?

Distinct eventually. It'd be great to keep a subset of the API compatible with lemmy, but i'm not sure what rimu and andrew would think

Which version of the lemmy API is it similar to? v3 or v4?

V3
