Like im too afraid to drive

Probably not. Finding work is the biggest problem. If you don't want to drive around and talk to people then how are you going to get any work? You could maybe do web work online, but you still need to get started somewhere, and that means going out and talking to people.

Now if you happen to be somewhere and you overhear someone talking about how they wish they had X or Y and you know how to do that you could start talking to them. But like cold calling people about making a website? Probably not something you'd want to do.

Yeah definitely don't cheap out on the mobo. Why would you buy one of the highest end CPUs, a very nice GPU, 64 gigs of ram, and the lowest grade mobo? Upgrade the board for the memory compatibility as well. Cheap boards are built poorly, and memory speed is one of the things that suffers because of it.

The 30 series really sucks from its lack of vram. Amazing GPU, just not enough vram to keep it fed.

Ugh, laptops without hyper threading should be illegal. At least core 200 series has E cores, but still you’d need 2 more P cores to make up for the lack of HT.

That’s the joke.

Lets be real here. They'd do it no matter who's in charge.

With loose power lines? No thanks.

You'd want mastadon for that. Lemmy is for following communities. Someone could make their own community if they wanted something for just them.

That's by design though. There's no way to have a federated system and ensure that everything deletes it.

Why would it? FOSS doesn't have the funding that commercial software does.

Also microwaves are only 2.4ghz. Any modern device should have a strong 5ghz connection in what I assume is a cramped apartment.

5ghz also has less interference problems, but it’s not immune.

Microsoft is bringing an update to Copilot Vision for Windows Insiders

Unless you’re in the windows insider program nobody should have this feature yet.

Is there any plan to try to fix federation with hexbear.net? Shortly after their domain expired it stopped working, but now that it's back it doesn't seem to have resumed. Does Lemmy even have something in place to fix federation issues when something like this happens?

I have an X61 Tablet and I'd like to get the original Lenovo recovery media for XP tablet edition (I think version 2005) mostly so I can get all of the drivers and functionality working.

I currently have an XP Pro install but that doesn't have any of the special tablet features. And my xp tablet edition install decided it doesn't want to work anymore and BSODs on start, and I don't feel like dealing with the hunt for old drivers.

Does anyone know where or how I can acquire isos or even the actual recovery CDs for this machine?
