OG ransomware attacks.

Translation (as near as I could figure out):

"Inexpensive PASGT (Personnel Armour System for Ground Troops) helmet with dyed, surplus camouflage cover and a used Yukon Gen1 Night Vision Goggle held on with GoPro parts (likely the curved attachment and maybe even the overhead clips), and an extra mount."

Definitely a case of: "if you have to ask, you don't want it."

Also, the Yukon Gen 1 seems to be discontinued (most of the reviews are 12+ years old) but new units run $2-5K.

I recently tried to convert a 2-yo Lenovo running Windows-11 to dual-boot. Gave up after three days and just went with Ubuntu. It shouldn't be this hard.

Hope they make a pop-top version at some point. Used to have one of those. Great for car camping since you could sleep two in the upper deck and not have to rearrange everything below.

Here I am, literally waiting for delivery of a USB-C to Mini-USB cable that I thought I would never need and got rid of six months ago.

Turns out the little external DVD player I keep around if I ever need to watch a DVD requires it. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Is it a 'coup' where the 'deposed leader' shows up and actively praises his own replacement (who was literally his deputy)?

Why not just go all the way and call it a 'revolution?' Sheesh.

Cost of living keeps going up each year, especially for raising a child. Young folks are statistically waiting longer or opting not to have children. Statistically, you start making fewer babies than elderly dying off. At some point, if you don't anything, the "replacement rate" falls low enough so you're heading toward a demographic time-bomb.

Countries like South Korea and Japan have been fighting this realization for twenty years. They've tried all these steps, from appealing to patriotic duty, to creating official dating/matchmaking apps, to offering tax breaks and outright cash grants. The only thing that works is to import people from places with the reverse issue -- too many babies. But that is both a cultural and political hot-button issue. Don't really see any other way out.
