I interact with I don't even know how many instances, I couldn't be bothered to make an account for every one of them honestly. If one of them would defederate from mine, I would just stop interacting. I guess it's the same for the well-meaning users on there too, it's way easier to have a single account to interact with (almost) any instance. And people are generally lazy, too.

Federation is one of the biggest advantages of lemmy and ActivityPub software IMO. Instances shouldn't defederate on a whim (considering the admins, who were the libs in this case, have been banned)

BTW my main point was that the vast majority of people interacting from db0 are well-meaning and not brainwormed libs (funnily enough the worst offenders were the admins) I don't think we should discourage them from participating on hexbear just because their admins are assholes.

Since I'm tankie-adjacent (meaningless term, more lore in the original post) and had to do with the affair I'll just voice my opinion: I've seen many good people coming from that instance, both on hexbear and outside hexbear, some of them even comrades. Punishing them for the actions of their mod team seems a bit too much to me. The offenders have (rightfully) been banned from this instance, and on the rare occasion a wandering lib will post on here we can all PPB them, I'll join too.

Also, semi-related but I love how just by shitposting on a piracy community I caused an inter-instance diplomatic crisis and had 2 (PoS) admins banned, lol wasn't my intention but I'm glad they showed their true self, so to say.

Edit: also remaining federated while having the admins banned is such a power move lol, "hate da gubmyent not da paypoohl" but for real this time

Plus (AFAIK) because of the shitty electoral system in the US, it's really hard to even get on the ballots. So it's not even like people who want actual change can vote somebody like West or PSL (Forgot the name of their candidate) because in half of the states they're not even on the ballot. Fucking great

Etit: hope not to start a struggle session, but is cornel west a good candidate? He seemed miles above recent mainstream US politicians to me (keep in mind I'm not Amerikkkan, fortunately)

BTW how do emojis work on hexbear? Like I doubt you have an emoji keyboard like on Android/iOS with your 5.000 emojis, must be unpractical. Do you telepathically communicate the emoji you want to insert to your device?

Got it, wanted to clarify that we have different unreconcilable viewpoints and all that stuff, still learning this hexbear thing. I'll keep it in mind for the next time.
