More importantly, why is it OK that children only.get exposed to Christian stuff even though churches are dangerous places for kids? Why do we let them decide for everyone else? Who gave them that authority?

The thing about a bot Silo is that once people catch on the spell is broken, and anyone can make one there's no moat. If they go to the bar out there well sooner or later find themselves completely irrelevant

I have extreme hesitation to use anything by a corporation anymore. There's nothing they can do that you can't do yourself anymore and I don't wanna be a reason people stay on shitty platforms.

I had my first account for a decade. My next two didn't last a year. I don't think I'll going back. Lemmy doesn't have niche communities really quite yet but for tech news it's arrived
People stay because that's where everyone else is. That's why I encourage people to at least use multiple places some of which are good so that they can follow you either place
