Yes and no. Not profit, but surplus. Profit is something that is extracted- a surplus is available to be reinvested and improve the quality and quantity of services. Running a country like a "business" makes sense insofar as focus should be made on using generated surpluses to improve citizen's lives. But we of course know thats not their target with said surpluses.
The only sane thing DeJoy wants to do. The USPS fleet is grossly outdated and electric vehicles make perfect engineering sense for distribution routes with lots of stop/start and idling. It'll lower their overall maintenance budget by tens of millions easy.

A manifesto supposedly found with him at the time of arrest has been "leaked" selectively without any confirmation from the man himself on whether it is legitimate or not. I still find the entire rapid stack up of evidence far too convenient for the police looking for an easy win to appease capitals interests in making an example out of a "fringe lone extremist".
