I have used it only to get closer to another canoe or for docking and undocking. More often the first one

That's why I love forum like Lemmy. You can get really deep on single topics that interest you. It's funny to click on a person though because you can see their odd interests. The best is when someone has porn and normal comments on one account. Really full transparency

This is a really interesting thing about these larger websites is that each of us see our own personalized version that others don't. On TikTok at least this is talked about with stupid names like BookTok, WitchTok, MomTok but its true on everything. The danger is that we think we are seeing the same internet as others and assume we are all in the same bubble. Language is a huge one but the algorithms are driving most of it.

Good choice. Who is he playing and who is Kermit playing? Sancho and Don Quixote are the two tops I think

I would watch this movie in a heart beat.

Would you prefer Kermit or Pablo as Jay Gastby? I am thinking Kermit with Pablo as Nick Carraway. With Miss Piggy as Daisy.

That was my thought. It felt so wasteful to throw something away that works

Ugh. You are so right. I hate the new internet where even pseudo-anonymous things can be traced back. I might have to delete this

Its hard because I wouldn't envy any new tech job seekers out there. From what I can see there aren't any entry level jobs in the field that being said I don't know what degree I would suggest that would have a good future career out of. I went into Data Science 8 years ago because it was going to be the high paying job of the future. I wouldn't recommend that now because there are no entry level jobs and those that exist are usually filled quickly

Yup. Instead of using ridiculous amount of water, energy and money to throw away a perfectly thing to get a replacement thing.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago

Exactly. Perfect is the enemy of good. This may not be right but is better than other options. If I can circumvent wasteful and stupid corporate policies which are screwing me, I will do the same back

This is just an extension about the Christian right to hide anything about sex including sex education not to make anything "safer" but to keep them in control. These laws are so broad and vague that they take down sex education as well outright porn but they focused on the porn to sell it. With their parallel push to classify anything discussing gay / lesbians / queer anything as porn they are trying to take it all down from the internet. At this point even if you "can't say gay" in school any child with a phone could find reliable and helpful information from other people like them online.

They don't care about safety for children, or women or sex workers since having upfront and clear information about it helps them all. They want them hidden and afraid so they can selectively enforce rules against people without power while those with it can profit off them. Keep sex on the internet

The co-ops — Eastside, Lakewinds, Mississippi Market, Seward, Valley Natural, and Wedge — have pledged a $28,700 donation to the Twin Cities Pride safety fund.

The co-ops announced the donation on social media, and confirmed to Bring Me The News that they'll be delivering the donation this week.

"As community-owned cooperative grocers, we've always been spaces where every member of our vibrant neighborhoods can find a sense of belonging, friendship, safety, and, of course, delicious local food," the co-ops wrote in a statement.
