God I love them
Well that's genuinely one of the funniest things I've seen in a looooooong time
Guinan?
Grew up all over the US south. I don't know about the turtles found elsewhere, but the ones around here (especially the snapping turtles) are shockingly fast. On land they can be a bit slow, but I've seen em move at a decent clip to cross a road. But let 'em touch the water and the show is over. Them suckers is quick
Some of them want to use you
US south. Weed eater or weed whacker, but the second is much less common. It's also the name of the thing you're doing. You use the weed eater to go out weed eat the yard
As a professional gay, and purely out of interest for my shareholders, could you elaborate on this "hypnodick porn" you mentioned?
Ooh, I'll try that one. Tbh, nuke isn't said for the funny. It's just what it was called when I was a kid. I never really considered it as a term until I was well into adulthood lol
Generally "nuke it" but occasionally zap make an appearance, microwave as a verb, and sometimes me-crow-wa-vay if I'm feeling extra
In addition to this excellent point, during the outage I saw several people asking which server to switch to from .ee, and the replies made me realize how much I love it here. My fellow Slrpnkians didn't get all bent out of shape and pissed about things the admin just simply couldn't control at the time. From what I saw (maybe it's different in private messages/behind the scenes, iunno) any people talking about the skrpnk outage from their alts were all being very reasonable, understanding, and just being generally decent netizens. I love it around here.
I am in no way techy, but from what I gather because the posts are federated they are also stored on the other instances as well, so posts are still visible. In the post announcing the shuttering of .ee they specifically mentioned adding a note on your profile to link to your new profile, so people can find your new profile after that shut down. That implies to me that everything not intentionally scrubbed remains open/visible long after the shut down of the original source.
Again, though, not techy, so I may be vocalizing from my posterior
Bring them back? My bank never got rid of them.
