It really is just that simple.

My semi-local equivalent was the council removing physical barriers separating a bike lane because drivers kept hitting them.

Think about that for a minute.

Our local weather reports in summer usually have a UV index and "burn time". I half it.

So, single digit minutes in peak conditions.

I happened to watch that yesterday and noticed the same thing. But it was an Archivist not The Collector.

IMHO This implies the archivist(s) provided some magic not necessarily known to The Titan.

The Collector also says something similar to Belos at a later point re the draining spell.

I get that Mark's art showed that Boscha Jr. Is a grimwalker, but, just hear me out... she also has a mouth, uhh, there...

Particularly as Collins promptly lied through her teeth to make the situation seem worse than it was.

That refreshing to read.

It's always nice to set bullies get some blue back.

I've found that place makers tends to be a bit more expensive.

Most of the alternative local stores just don't keep the stock on hand or are advertising GST exclusive pricing for professionals.

I've got some very good discounts on tools from mitre10 by using their guarantee.

Bunnings usually have the same items (in my case DeWalt tools, but any international brand should work) for a few cents less: instant 15% discount. Occasionally the difference is several % before the price match.

It's worth exploiting it when you can: they're exploiting you anyways...

The wheels of beauraucracy turn slowly

Councils in cyclone-hit regions staring down a decade-long roading recovery say they simply cannot afford it.

Emphasis mine.

The duration of the remedial works is the problem more than the cost.

If it takes a decade to recover from an event that is likely to reoccurr more frequently then it's a losing game.

It's a shame that local and central government in NZ just can't/won't maintain infrastructure.

Alternative headline: National to spend $30m to sacrifice some of your lives so our trip is slightly faster.

The changes have been endorsed by transport researchers and street safety advocates as effective measures to help reduce the number of Kiwis killed and injured on the roads.

That's all there is to it.
