Lots of releases since my last post roughly 1 week ago. Suffice to say, I've been hard at work :)

• Threativore now allows specifying a governance community. Posts in that community can be used for voting. Voting relies on the specified user tags within threativore to figure out which votes to count and which not. You can see this in action in our very first voting thread in lemmy.dbzer0.com.
• A lot more work has gone into preparing threativore to serve tags as flairs, with flair ordering mechanisms using env var definitions
• Two new threativore PM commands added
  • vouching for users, which gives them a special flair and allows them to participate in votes. Vouching PMs are open to all trusted uses, has controls to prevent multiple/duplicate vouching, and PMs target and source accorindly.
  • assigning/removing flair, which gives them the flair tag on threativore and PMs them accordingly. This is open only to threativore admins.

The threativore manual has been updated with all relevant information for all of these

📊 Chainalysis put out some data claiming that at least half of all TRUMP and MELANIA #memecoin “investors” never bought a token on Solana before and most of them hold less than $200 worth while 50 "whales" have made profits of more than $10 million each, strongly suggesting that the biggest suckers in the #TrumpCoin grift are the #MAGA voter base. Feels like #JustinSun made a deal with Trump to let him fleece the MAGA base and drain money back to #China.

I have some issues with #Chainalysis and suspect the data is actually even more damning than they’re saying… but I don’t have access to the data and what they’re saying is already extremely damning. (Kind of expect them to be forced to retract it by the company ownership because of the bad PR).

Hello once again peeps. As part of my work in categorizing and flairing users based on their registration application, I thought, "why not use the same code to have a constantly running script that checks for new applications and automatically flairs them. Then after I built that, I thought to myself "why not PM new users with their starting flair"? And, well, long story short, our instance now has a script that will automatically PM new users with a full welcome message.

The message will include the users starting flair, based on their stated favorite Anarchist, Pirate or FOSS Advocate and then will suggest some starting comms to join, based on those tags. You can see an example in the attached image.

I feel like this is a neat idea to simulate something like the bluesky starting packs. Of course since we don't quite have something like an onboarding screen, I can't finetune the suggestions too much, but at least we have something.

Let me know if you can think of any improvements to this process.

As I'm having to decide sometimes on whether something is on-topic or not, and we can always make mistakes, I've opened a matrix channel for YPTB for meta discussions.

As mentioned in the previous post, the Governance community is now live. I have refactored my affiliations lookup script to be more accurate and have added everyone's application affiliation to their threativore flairs.

I want to say, y'all are pretty creative and keep coming up with favorites I've never heard before. I still have quite a lot of uncategorized answers to go through, but most of you have been assigned a tag.

As a way to reward people who are coming up with unique answers, the first person who registers with a new favorite, also gets the first emoji assigned.

A few of you seem to mention people who are neither anarchists, pirates nor foss (advocates). Usually, and unless that person is a complete reactionary or PoS, we let you through. However you don't get a first for that. Instead, you get a snowflake flair, because you're special like that 😜

Finally, quite a few people registered before we even had an application form with which to request your affiliation. So as to recognize all you early birds, I have now added a fresh flair early_bird and is something nobody else will be able to get ;) Thanks for sticking around here for the past 2 years!
