It just so happens that hexbears never comment on any flippanarchy posts which reach /all, unless it's a post going against "left unity". Funny how that works.

Please don't align me with neolibs. Anyway, hexbears always become salty when one goes against left unity, and consider it "bait" even when one does it in their own comms. Then come in and demand a debate and when you refuse to engage, they proceed to bad faith ridicule and bullying in a misguided attempt of shaming people who don't swallow the campist Kool-aid.

I will put this on the list of games I like playing way less than the thought of playing. I tried multiple times to play BB but the amount of metagaming one needs to do to make progress always makes me bounce.

Oh, any specific reason you're switching software?

Let's build an app to liberate communications but only release it inside a closed garden. Great idea

Ah they're concerned with the brand, not with the Nazi salute?

We're not against GenAI as a tech. We're against corporate GenAI though.

At this point, so probably would I. Funnily enough, they think my experience with KKE was what disillusioned me against MLs, but in truth I was never that much against them specifically instead of their ideology only. But my hexbear experiences and the absolute constant of bad faith, ableism, bullying and disinfo I see from them, made me far more wary of MLs as people.

The latest case of them not respecting requests for disengagement and goading people to be their lolcows is just the lowest they've ever fallen in my eyes.

[...] Why do collapses happen? Tainter argues persuasively that societies collapse when marginal returns on complexity begin to decline.

Complexity is a problem-solving tool. We can reap tremendous benefits from complexity. But complexity is also quite expensive. If you’re working as, say, a scientist, someone else is laboring to sustain your life—the food you eat, the clothes you wear, etc—while you engage in research. The more specialized we become, the more those primarily producers must produce to keep everyone else fed and clothed, the more resources we must pour into coordinating and communicating and transporting.

And sometimes, we find that additional complexity begins to generate declining marginal returns—fewer returns per unit of resources invested in complexity. We begin to invest more and more just to sustain things as they are, and when we reach that point and face some new crisis, we have no surplus left to invest in more complexity. [...]
