Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's February 29 release date is getting closer and fans are finally learning more and more about the game. Square Enix confirmed it will feature new story content centred around Zack, and perhaps even incorporate backstory for Sephiroth included in mobile game Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis.

HoYoVerse announced that over a million people are now playing Honkai: Star Rail on the PS5. To thank all the players for their support, the developer will give everyone Stellar Jades.

The base reward will be 200 Stellar Jades. However, there is also a comment thread event on Hoyolab that will run from November 17, 2023 that might garner Trailblazers more Stellar Jades. People will need to share an in-game screenshot of Honkai: Star Rail, along with a comment, to count. If the thread gains over 10,000 comments, then Trailblazers will get an additional 180 Stellar Jades. These Jades will appear in your in-game Mail after November 24, 2023.

The PS5 version of Honkai: Star Rail came out on October 11, 2023. The game debuted on April 26, 2023 for the Windows PC and mobile devices, which means that the console version came out almost six months after its initial launch. There were several technical tests in the meantime, and the PS5 version came out on the same date that the Version 1.4 update went live.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. All players will receive Stellar Jades in commemoration of the million player milestone after November 24, 2023.

Awarded to a game for outstanding development of ongoing content that evolves the player experience over time.

Hello friends. While reading and writing are great ways to study Japanese, listening comprehension and speaking are also important aspects to consider as well. As such, this post will serve to provide a list of YouTube channels for the purpose of comprehensible input. I will update this post periodically over time.

いろいろな日本語

A channel that uses hand-drawn pictures to narrate lessons while speaking. This channel also explains the plot to anime, and various kanji. Subtitles are only available in Japanese. Furigana is not provided. The channel is relatively new, so there is less content than some of the other channels I'll be linking. However, the creator speaks slowly, clearly, and repeats himself to help the viewer. This channel is useful for beginners.

Comprehensible Japanese

A channel that focuses on digital, hand-drawn, and live examples to narrate while speaking. Subtitles are in written in kanji and kana--furigana is not provided. This channel has been around longer than the previous channel, meaning there will be more content to consume. A bit more challenging than the previous channel as Yuki speaks at a more natural pace and does not repeat herself.

Daily Japanese with Naoko

A channel focused on speaking on day-to-day topics such as weather, traveling, daily tasks, etc. This channel has less videos to watch than the previous one. However, Naoko speaks at a more natural pace than the previous two, so this is probably recommended for intermediate to advanced learners. Additionally, she subtitles her videos in Japanese--this includes kana, kanji, and furigana. This will be useful if you wish to practice reading while listening simultaneously.

Nihongo-Learning

This channel focuses on grammar and how Japanese is used in daily life, similar to the previous channel. Lessons occasionally cover kanji and kana lessons, with supplemental visual aids. Yuta often creates videos while out on walks, so this also has the benefit of taking in some sights while learning. Subtitles are largely in kanji and kana. Occasionally, vocabulary is introduced in their kanji and kana forms. Yuta, the creator, takes his time to repeat phrases so that the viewer can practice both listening and imitating his pronunciation. There are nearly 100 videos, and I would say this is a very useful resource for beginners.

Japanese with Shun

This channel covers a wide variety of topics, ranging from fashion, to travels, daily life, food, conversations with friends, listening exercises, and more. This channel also includes podcasts targeted at beginners. Shun also includes a brief description of how difficult the language content may be. These descriptions range anywhere from N5 --> N2, with some descriptions used in relation to Genki (the podcasts in particular). Probably the most useful for those who wish to get a feel for their listening comprehension. Also useful for more intermediate to advanced learners. In the videos, you'll find kanji and kana. However, furigana is not provided (at least that I've seen so far). This channel is also has the largest library of content, containing 507 videos at the time of this post.

もしもしゆうすけ

This channel covers topics at convenience stores, recorded conversations with friends and acquaintances, dining at restaurants, daily life, and more. Yusuke's content may be on the more intermediate to advanced side of content listed here, as he speaks at a pace more suited for natural dialogue. Furthermore, as Yusuke likes to walk during some of his monologues, there may be added difficulty in practicing listening comprehension. This may prove useful for those who wish to listen to Japanese outside of an "idealistic setting" where some content creators are sitting in a noise-insulated room and can focus entirely on the clarity of their pronunciation for the viewer. These videos provide subtitles mostly in kana, with occasional instances of kanji and their associated furigana. English subtitles are also provided.

As Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth moves towards a grander adventure for the follow-up to Remake, players will have more ways to build their party of heroes as they take on greater challenges. But with the sequel, the creative team behind the game has also revealed that players will have more ways to customize the look of their squad as well.

Reported by French website Final Fantasy Dream, Rebirth game director Naoki Hamaguchi and producer Yoshinori Kitase stated during a recent appearance at Paris Game Week 2023 that Rebirth will have more costumes for your favorite FFVII characters to try out as they explore the world beyond Midgar.

"There will be more [costume] choices than in the previous game, so if you like to spend time changing the character look, you're going to have a good time," said Hamaguchi while talking about planned content for Rebirth. Game producer Yoshinori Kitase followed up by teasing, "[...]there may be some that are very well hidden in FFVII Rebirth."

So far, we've seen just a small sampling of the different costumes in recent trailers for the game. One short sequence saw Cloud wearing beachwear while exploring the seaside resort town Costa del Sol on a segway-like vehicle. It's an odd scene, but given that Rebirth and Remake have been all about expanding the world of Final Fantasy 7 and allowing the cast of characters to really explore and mingle within it, there's sound logic for letting characters try out different outfits.

One of the 2020 remake's most memorable moments involved a costume change in reimagining the infamous Honeybee Inn sequence. During that chapter, protagonist Cloud Strife had to infiltrate an enemy base hidden within an entertainment hall by dressing in drag. While the original 1997 game presented this sequence as something of an extended gag, the 2020 remake made it into a surprisingly heartfelt and endearing event that celebrates modern drag culture and self-acceptance, and it quickly became one of the favorite crowd-pleasing moments in the game.

In our recent Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth preview, GamesRadar's Iain Harris stated: "The project's massive narrative swing brings everyone together to theorize over the mystique of what's next – a community clamoring that might not have happened if the Remake project had remained entirely faithful. Despite all the changes that are likely to come, then, previewing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth reassures me that the game won't be morphed into something unrecognizable. And now, I'm keener for the unfamiliar; what it brings."
