Damn this was really cool. Not the biggest fan of the art style but the animation was solid and really liked the tone and plot setup.
It was cancelled before it could have a proper ending. Apparently a bunch more had already been written beyond the 20 that aired.
Having said that it was a fun show from what I remember with some great character designs. A lot of "monster of the week" episodes if that's your style.
Had an older 65 inch 1080p tv that died. So now we watch on my 32 inch 4k monitor. Using a pair of iLoud Micro speakers.
Will eventually get a new TV and proper sound setup.
Goddamn that's sexy
That's super cool. Thanks for sharing, somehow I was completely unaware of this
I know most people here will be fine with pirating and most of these shows and movies will not actually be lost. But as this thread proves, even modern shows can be lost. And there are 2 things here I find especially sad:
-
As mentioned in the article the CN website had a lot of digital games. I think most of them will be lost. This is something we've seen a lot throughout the history of web based games.
-
"I’m more frustrated at the continued removal of online spaces for kids. It leads to them going to media spaces for adults, and that never ends well." from This reddit comment.
- Ultimates #3: This is like the only consistently good marvel comic right now imo. Haven't read it yet but looking forward to it.
- The Power Fantasy #1: Solid first issue from Kieron Gillen
Just based on your recommendation I will probably check out Falling In Love On The Path To Hell
Hajime no Ippo was great. The manga is still on going apparently.
I watched it with some friends at one of their houses. Halfway through one of them said out loud: "This is kind of shit isn't it?" I think that basically sums up my feelings on it. I won't deny that they tried to explore some important themes but it's such an unmemorable mess that I can't even remember a few years out if they were successful at all. What I do remember is how uninspired and boring so much of the film was. Especially the fight scenes which are such an important core of the Matrix franchise.
I think they made it very clear early in the movie in a meta way through Neo's job that nobody really wanted to make it but that they were more or less forced to by Warner Bros. And it seems like it was ultimately made by Lana Wachowski as a fuck you to the studio and went out of its way to piss off the audience.
Super cool. Thanks for sharing. Also seeing the reference to the Paperman short makes me want to rewatch that. I remember loving it years ago.
I finished the new Batman: Caped Crusader over the past week and unfortunately found it to be pretty mid overall. I do think there were a few episodes in the middle where the tone and the writing clicked in a way that was quite satisfactory but yeah, fairly disappointed overall. It also bothers me that the animation is often fairly subpar. You would think a Batman show by Bruce Timm would get the necessary resources needed to wow but maybe that was an unfair expectation on my part. I think I'll probably not watch season 2 unless a lot of people I trust are praising it.
Catching up on some of the Tomorrowverse films. Justice League: Warworld was not good. I couldn't even really tell you the point of the film. The whole premise of it is just poorly executed. Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One was pretty good though. I think it might have been better if the events of the first half had been it's own film^1^, but the second half was genuinely engaging and had some great emotional impact at times. The music was also surprisingly good imo.
I've been watching the 2011 The Looney Tunes Show for the first time over the past few weeks and man what a great show. Genuinely some hilarious antics and Lola Bunny in particular is just delightfully unhinged.
Spoilers for Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One: 1
The first half covers the formation of the Justice League through Flash's perspective. Having that be its own movie would have been better and help us get attached to the world and characters more before the Crisis happens.
Let's go. Loved Kubo!
