Ah, rather, it would be a lemmy-ui issue, I gather.

πŸ€” how does it work when/if I would want to participate in a community on your instance?

Post to it, comment on things...

Philosophically, I'm thinking about 'owning' a forum vs 'participating' - how to not have federation become fragmentation.

For me, it is perfectly OK to have different rules for local and federated accounts in a community, but maybe some communities will want to organize this in a consensus that goes beyond the 'owning' instance.

(Maybe I'm also - still - misunderstanding how multiple instances and federation works. This is also an invitation to think about these things / make them clearer (to me, and in general)).

... Except that opening this/such links with Jerboa seems currently broken. (couldnt_find_post)

I'm sorry to hear that. Do take care of yourself, and do reach out.

Great points and perspective!

I think NixOS at this point is great to know and have an eye on for new projects that happen to require some preconfigured OS "underneath". I wouldn't think about migrate existing, working infrastructure into NixOS either, 'just because'.

What are those not-quite-tetris blocks in the upper left corner, what's that program called?

I can't really read the window title on the screen I'm at.

Nay - I currently don't even have an account here, so... take that as you find authentic for your instance.

For those who like a video format, I found this introduction quite informative.

I'd say it does very well happen to everyone, but some people might find it much more relatable in general than others. And there would be a correlation between finding it very relatable and a diagnosis on the spectrum, but no hard causality.

Also, on Jerboa it currently doesn't seem to work at all (or I haven't figured out how to get it to work).

Maybe also a couple of key phrases?

That one thing has certainly 'worked', FWIW as of now.

Be creative! What if AI got trained to always answer with subtle innuendo... the thought makes me all shivery.

I started with SLS around 1993, tracking it into Slackware. From 1996 thereabouts on, I used RedHat mostly and Suse occasionally.

Both of those going more commercial each in their own ways didn't sit too well with me.

In 2004 I found gentoo, and am sticking with it for most everything since.
