Cartoon Network Studios has been inactive for YEARS, with their original headquarters shut down and no new shows coming out. However, the Annecy Animation Festival revealed panels celebrating Cartoon Network and Warner Bros Discovery. We'll see announcements about new Adventure Time, new Regular Show, The Amazing World of Gumball, The Powerpuff Girls, and maybe even a few surprise reveals...

Let your dishwasher do the work for you!

Goodness gracious, great balls of fire.

$300 to Fix PS5...WHAT???! Repair Shop Scams My Viewer! My viewer took their PS5 to a local repair shop after the HDMI port broke. The shop charged them their normal fee and then later an additional fee to try to fix the console but were never able to actually get it working. So they sent it to me to see if I can figure it out.

I was able to trick scammers into sharing their audio feed with me and stop a few victims from losing money.

Coming July 8th, the heart-wrenching Ghibli classic Grave of the Fireflies will be released and distributed via Blu-ray DVDs from GKIDS and Shout! Studios. Both standard and limited edition Steelbook sets will also include feature length and deleted storyboards, interviews, image galleries, and more.

Over the years I've done many projects where I turned completely inedible things into food, and what I've been really wanting to do for a while now, is to try turning children's glue into drinkable alcohol.

For a couple years now, I've been wanting to turn cotton balls into edible (and literal) cotton candy. It took me a while to figure out how to do it, but I finally did it!

This is kind of a follow-up to my previous project, where I turned toilet paper into drinkable alcohol (moonshine). In that one, I used an enzyme called cellulase, but that didn't seem to work here. So, instead, I used concentrated sulfuric acid.

I've Been Looking for This RARE PS4 for YEARS - But It's BROKEN! I paid $1400 for one of the rarest PS4s. That's a lot of money but this is also something I've been trying to buy for years. Of course it's broken so I need to figure out what exactly is wrong and then get it fully working again.

2 Years ago, as part of the Reddit protest I took the tiny fledgling ~700 subscriber sub private. I now feel it's time to move it over to Lemmy!

I'll be copying content here and then once that's done r/suddenlyspongebob will be PURGED as best I can

So things might be a little bare for a day or 2.

For rules, just keep things nice and chill around here

Welcome!

Welcome happy you're here! We've got memes on deck at [email protected] and if you're a programmer of some kinds we got [email protected] to scratch that itch and be sure to drop a shit(post) off at [email protected] or if you want SCIENCE and memes head over to the wonderful [email protected] or if you just want regular SCIENCE mander.xyz is full of sciency comms like [email protected] and [email protected]. [email protected] is also nice this time of year, but you'll have to post before you can leave.

We're not without our cons though, biggest problem we have are probably the Tankies (Authoritarian "communists" who will overlook any wrong doings of China, Russia, NK because they think their governments are the "gold standard"), but here they're mostly on the Tankie Triad lemmy.ml, lemmygrad and hexbear. You have a Reddit.org account so iirc you only need to worry about .ml, but on Lemmy you can do a personal instance wide block if you'd rather just not deal with them. If you want to see what they get up to from a safe distance check [email protected]

The W3C (The body that dictates web standards) specification, that describes what browser engines should handle, like CSS features, HTML5 etc and how is equivalent to thousands of pages long and there are huge standards to implement.

HTML5 is a big thing to implement, so is CSS and the JavaScript engine and probably even more technologies I'm forgetting

And that's just implementation, it takes even more work to get them running well enough for the average end-user

Ladybird has been working on their from scratch engine for ~5 years iirc and they're not planning to even have the first alpha out until next year lol

Sounds like they're deep, probably too far to be reached by someone online, they need actual deprogramming and it's almost impossible to do online. It's why I've mostly given up on trying to seriously debate them and conservatives online and try to focus on "early intervention and containment" lmao

That being said I've made fantastic progress on some conservative family members IRL, if you know this person IRL, you have a shot.

It's a monumental effort really, building a browser engine from scratch and taking it to daily driver usable is probably among the most difficult programming challenges. It's way easier to build a new Linux kernel from scratch than a browser engine lmao

Even Microshit tried and gave up because it was so hard

It wasn't my intent to criticize Piefed either, just trying to not over sell it to new users, I'd rather not them be thinking it's a perfect drop-in replacement, and then have a sour taste in their mouth when they run into an issue

Np! If you have any specific interest, feel free to ask and I can probably find some good comms for you

Iirc it was mostly around notifications and federation delays

Lol I'm trying it out, davel un-instance-banned me after that meme went live and then banned me from each comm individually instead, so they could brigade my posts/comments
