I thought it was bad that video games required an internet connection

Funny thing is that's when I stopped gaming. When the Xbox came out and everyone was hopping on the internet, I was like no thanks - I prefer "retro" gaming now where we're all in one room together drinking beer and laughing while having a good time.

Fuck it, I’ll go one step further. Elon Musk used to be an OpenAI board member alongside Sam Altman. In 2022, Elon Musk was the richest man in the world. Unless he is an idiot and treated Sam Altman badly, I am sure Sam Altman must have chatted with him in 2022 (or earlier) to tell about how awesome ChatGPT was going to be. Like, if your former colleague is the richest man in the world, you give that guy a call, right?
So how the hell did he spend $40B on fucking Twitter when Microsoft bought OpenAI for $10B?

Wow. That's something I hadn't really considered - very good point. As an innovator myself, you can bet your butt that I would be telling the richest man on the planet what advances had been made with the software.....

Who do you think writes the medical textbooks handed out to med students? Part of the scam is in the training how and what to prescribe. Many doctors will treat the symptoms while ignoring the cause. A proper healthy diet and exercise could cure a lot of things, but that's not profitable advice to give.

I know a woman who spent years fighting a bunch of skin problems and other issues, visiting all kinds of doctors. Finally she figured it out herself. She had turned herself entirely "vegan" for probably a decade or longer, choosing to forgo all meat, especially red meat. Guess what fixed her big issues? Eating a small filet of steak several times a month - her blood type and genetics required something that she was lacking in all her other vitamins/minerals/etc intake. Not saying eating red meat every day is good for the average person either, but just one example where her condition stumped doctors for several years before she chased down a wild theory herself and it worked.

Very true, but we'll see if there's any actual recourse. So far teflon don has thumbed his nose the law every way possible. I'm not holding my breath

Cool thanks for that, I've honestly never fiddled with Open SUSE, I gravitated to Linux Mint a while back and like that it's still under constant development.

Lol, oh don't get me started on ads. I loathe ads to the point where I have a router-level ad blocking to filter them out (I don't use it but piHole but that's a great option for the DIYer out there). That combined with my FF uBlock origin extension and I see very few ads anywhere online

I was an avid Firefox user for many years. Switched to Chrome for a while when it got good. But I knew it wouldn't last - google would find ways to break it. So I switched back to Firefox a few years ago. Haven't looked back.

Dang, wasn't aware of that with the animated movie.

and the Calvin pissing image is not an approved image. He regretted not doing more to sue the copyright infringers.

Pretty sure I read that he licensed one of the graphics with calvin pissing, but he never intended for people to copy the design and alter the graphic used in the artwork. Now I'm trying to dig through my old C&H books to find where he mentions it lol.

Totally plan on it - my partner loves dill so we have a bunch of fresh dill and other herbs/spices growing, it's gonna be delicious!

Back when he was just wrapping up C&H, he published a book (I forget the name) where he talks about his experiences, his favorite strips, etc.

He has often mentioned licensing and how he had resisted animated series because he knew they were going to kill the magic that is C&H. One of his biggest regrets was licensing the rights to the Calvin pissing on the FORD logo (or was it Chevy? I forget). Because that was in poor taste and now it's everywhere.

I'm honestly shocked that he's agreed to an animated movie, I figured he must have passed away and his estate was milking the C&H for more royalties haha.
