Okay? Are you confused about the meaning? It does assume some familiarity with the history of Bitcoin and common attitudes among Bitcoin proponents.

does it need to be kde?

For me, probably. But feel free to give whatever recommendations you think other people reading this thread might find useful.

However:

  • 2011: Using paypal to buy bitcoin ❌
  • 2023: Using paypal to buy bitcoin ✅

(Never mind that you could already buy bitcoins directly from paypal. That ruins the joke.)

Haha, I think the main thing stopping me has been that they're almost all for Windows. I know I can probably run them with Wine, but it's still a hurdle, if just a small one. I really appreciated that Doki Doki Literature Club supported Linux, even if it was very "babby's first VN".

The meme isn't really about what the word "cryptocurrency" means. It's saying that altcoiners shouldn't expect bitcoiners to help defend their straw houses when the big bad wolf comes to blow them down. They can abandon their shoddy structures and join us in our fortress instead. Bitcoin was literally designed with these kinds of attacks in mind.

There isn't currently a way to move the old posts to the new community, other than just manually reposting them.

The mods of the old community can lock it and make a pinned post directing people to the new one (this caused some controversy when it was done with the android community on lemmy.world). I don't think that's necessary in this case. As long as people know about the various Bitcoin communities, one of them will win out as the main one.

And there's a pull request for it already. That was quick.

Pretty sure this isn't currently possible. I've created a feature request on kbin's issue tracker for it.

Free software: Software you get for free

Not in this sense. This kind of confusion is why we end up with awkward terms like "Free/Libre Open Source Software".

I've done very little in the way of VNs thus far, but I'll check it out. Thank you. :)

Ah, the spoiler may detract from it. A big part of Higurashi is the "what the fuck is going on here" factor. I started watching it again recently. Too soon to decide if it holds up overall the second time, but it does feel less scary since I already know the overall plot.

The anime also has a trap in that it's not exactly clear initially how the seasons are connected. I initially thought season 1 was a stand-alone story, and was sorely disappointed by the ending until I realized it was continued in season 2. Happened to a friend of mine too, he only watched season 1 a while back, hated the ending, and then I had to harangue him into continuing.

Season 3 on the other hand is just an OVA after-story thing that happens after the main plot has wrapped up. I don't know what's going on with season 4 and 5, as they weren't out yet when I was watching.
