Not maybe. Definitely.

She “knew the taxes could go up some”, and they had the resources to basically build an entire house.

This is poor/no planning, and entitlement.

That’s a fair point. But at the very least it can be said she should have had the resources not to be surprised by this.

How were they supposed to know real estate law being… checks notes…

a real estate attorney?

You’d think a real estate attorney would know better.

Anyway, property –with the improvements they made, has appreciated over $163,000 on average every year since they bought it. Ya, $75k more than they planned on sucks, but they can take it from the value of the house no?

Best show on television!

4 years is a long time, and what is true one cycle isn’t necessarily so the next.

I’m not saying Harris is my preference for a democrat, only that a primary can sort it out.

I welcome Harris running in the primary. In fact, I suspect had we had a primary in 2024 Trump wouldn’t be president now.

Six months ago, I’d have lined up to volunteer to get this guy elected.

Now, I’m genuinely confused as what he believes in. I suspect he’s done the math and moving to the right increases his chance of being ejected, and if so he’d probably right. But what a disappointment.

To be fair, someone born in 1989 saying they're an 80s baby would likewise get sideeyed from me.

Dionysius did not use a year zero; the year preceding AD 1 was 1 BC.

  • “The Oxford Companion to the Year” by Blackburn & Holford-Strevens

There was not a year zero. This isn’t a conspiracy theory.

I’m a firm believer each nominal decade (“the 80s” in this case) starts with the year ending in 1 (1981-1990).

Mathematically it’s correct (there was no year 0), but more to the point look at anything in the popular culture in 1980, doesn’t it look like it’s from the 70s? Video from 1990 doesn’t look “90s”, it looks 80s.

Yet again, GenX is overlooked.
