A lot of socialists at the time thought the establishment of Israel would weaken the UK's presence in the middle east, and they were world's largest imperial power at the time. Plus since many of the early settlers were Holocaust survivors and/or involved in socialist politics, there was a fair assumption that the state of Israel would be anti-imperialist and socialist aligned.

About ten years ago Elon Musk changed his profile to an image of the character Kagerou Imaizumi from the Touhou Project series. His bio read "nya I'm a cat girl."
Except as every normal person knows, Kagerou Imaizumi (the stage 3 boss from Double Dealing Character) is in fact a werewolf, not a cat girl. The game identifies her with the title of the Bamboo Forest's Loup-Garou. I can excuse many forms of cringe, but being a Touhou secondary or tertiary is an unforgivable sin. Musk will die without seeing the face of God.

I don't know if I'm just being ableist but it's all I can think of. The computer isn't talking to you, it's a speak and spell. Imagine a person treating a furby like it's alive or it has any insight whatsoever. Imagine someone with one of those spinny talking toys that tells you what sounds the farm animals make and they think it makes them an expert agricultural scientist. Like you'd have to be a dipshit, right?
