Tesla Takedown Vancouver is coming back to Strathcona Park!

Tesla is building a 120,000 square foot Megastore-the biggest in North America (not just Canada)-in Strathcona, the poorest postal code in Canada (not just BC).

That 120,000 sq ft could be housing.

We're hella mad-we're also gonna have FUN. Definites: Saluting Elon, bubbles, and Cybertruck pinatas!

Still working on music, a speaker, and maybe a birthday cake.

LFG!

Elon Musk is done at DOGE, but the goons he's installed are still wrecking havoc in the US government.

Elon is still fueling conspiracies and fascist rhetoric, and still using his immense wealth to warp government policy and buy elections around the globe.

**On June 28—Elon's birthday-**let's celebrate with a global party with one powerful message: Musk Must Fall.

Because r/NiceVancouver wasn't so nice, this FAQ was created by the OP to answer the most burning questions/comments they got in that thread

First: some exciting updates! 1) Cake has been ordered, and 2) Carnival Band will be joining us!

I thought Tesla sales in Canada were cratering. How does this giant store make sense?

They sure are! At the end of Q1 2025, Tesla sales dropped by 71% worldwide and 87% in Montreal. I could’t find the numbers for BC.

Construction started on the Strathcona site in December 2023-long before Elon went full Elon. The estimated completion date is spring 2026.

*One prophecy and one wishful thinking/wild dream: *

The building gets finished but every other Tesla store in the lower mainland closes.

Tesla stops construction and another company finishes the building as affordable housing.

Can you imagine if we (Vancouverite) cares as much for issues happening much much closer to home having direct impact on us?

In case BECAUSE you missed it, Tesla is building a 120,000 square foot megastore, the biggest in North America (not just Canada), in Strathcona, the poorest postal code in Canada (not just BC). Strathcona is in Vancouver. How much closer to home should it be?

Our friends and us are almost all working 6 days a week and doing other side hustles to keep above water. Mortgage renewals, childcare, etc etc, everyone is struggling yet these guys have the time to protest?

This is exactly where the oligarchs want you. Struggling, so you don’t have the time or energy to protest.

They also want us fighting amongst ourselves, so we don’t stop and pay attention to what they’re doing to us.

This is going to do absolutely nothing 😂

Tesla’s lawyers and US federal regulators disagree!

https://techcrunch.com/2025/04/23/anti-musk-protests-are-now-an-official-risk-to-teslas-business/

**Canada has its own issues that deserve our attention more…

It's hilarious they protest here instead of going to America where the man lives.

Was Elon not ousted out of the White House and is no longer involved with doge what exactly are we protesting? People are protesting something that ended weeks ago.**

His DOGE goons are still wrecking havoc on many US agencies. Until they’re gone, his influence remains.

Elon is courting friendly provinces for Starlink contracts. Do you remember when he threatened to turn off Ukraine’s Starlink? Which he actually did it 2023? https://thehill.com/policy/defense/4193788-musk-acknowledges-he-turned-off-starlink-internet-access-last-year-during-ukraine-attack-on-russia-military/

If he succeeds in getting those contracts in Canada, he could turn off our internet because he’s mad at us or because he’s an impetuous drug addict.

That’s one reason. Here are four more. https://teslatakedownottawa.wordpress.com/

Notice how no one wants to protest the other tech giants that stood by Trump during his inauguration and supported him?

Where are the people boycotting all Amazon, google, facebook, and apple products and services?

Canada has its own issues that deserve our attention more, such as the delays in licensing American-trained physicians.

You’re welcome to start your own protest or, if protests aren’t your jam, give your attention to the cause that YOU’RE most passionate about!

THIS protest has a concrete, actionable goal: attack Elon in his Achilles heel until Tesla is worthless. Tesla goes down, Elon goes down.

Rather than have a “protest the billionaires” event, Tesla Takedown-which is worldwide, BTW-is going after the single point of vulnerability of the Apex Predator Billionaire: THE richest man in the world.

Tesla is his only source of cash. NONE of his businesses make money-Starlink, SpaceX, NeuraLink, Xai, X/Twitter. They’re all privately held companies.

Tesla is publicly traded. Elon financed his Twitter purchase with his Tesla stock. If/WHEN the Tesla stock price drops below a certain point-$125, I think-he gets margin called and his Twitter investors come around and say, “Pony up the cash, dude; your stock has lost too much value to be collateral.” He has to sell his stock, and the dominoes start falling.

Remember when XAI bought X? https://www.reuters.com/markets/deals/musks-xai-buys-social-media-platform-x-45-billion-2025-03-28/

That’s called “rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic”.

How about when he told begged his employees to hold onto their stock?... https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/mar/21/elon-musk-tesla-stock#:~:text

…while his board was dumping theirs? https://abcnews.go.com/Business/tesla-board-members-executive-sell-off-100-million/story?id=119889047

Point being: this protest is WORKING.

Elon has worked in the interest of the United States. I don't agree with his stance, lifestyle, and many other things. But hey, he’s entitled to his own opinions and beliefs; just like you and me.

Elon has worked in the interest of Elon. He has a stance, a lifestyle, opinions, and beliefs. His ACTIONS have killed many, MANY human beings. https://www.bu.edu/articles/2025/mathematician-tracks-deaths-from-usaid-medicaid-cuts/

USAID is ONE agency he cut. The first five agencies he DOGE’d were ones that were investigating him. Like the National Transportation and Safety Board. His cars are dangerous, many have died, and now the NTSB doesn’t have the staff to investigate him.

We all need to grow up and focus on what truly matters. Maybe we spend more time with our family? Spend less time on screen? Raise our kids to be the citizens of Canada we want them to be?

**Wtf why? Go to work! Spend time with your family and pets.

Amazes me this is how some people prefer to spend their days off 😂**

Good news! We ALL get to spend our days off exactly as we want to. And dude, if you’re working 6 days a week AND have a side hustle, please, spend time with your family and pets, enjoy the outdoors, and REST. I have as much concern for your well being as you have for mine.

Finally-specific to this event, allow me to offer-if Saluting Elon, bubbles, cybertruck piñatas, a carnival band, and cake don’t make you smile? Even a little bit?

The media won’t say it—but we will. Donald Trump is a fascist. On June 14th, we’re gathering at the Vancouver Art Gallery to send one clear message: it's time to stop soft-selling the threat. It’s time to call fascism what it is.

WHY WE’RE DOING THIS We’re not waiting for history books to catch up. We’re saying it now, because it’s true now.

The lack of widespread adoption of the word “fascist” has real consequences. When the media, journalists, politicians, and institutions downplay Trump’s rhetoric and actions, the public underestimates the threat. And when we don’t call it like we see it, fascism can more easily take root here at home in Canada.

WHY JUNE 14th Because it’s Trump’s birthday and he’s using it as a show of force. A protest on this day shows we won’t stand for silence, soft language, or denial.

The Context We want to call it out and name it. It’s fascism when you… Silence the press Jail and intimidate opponents Persecute freedom of expression Deport citizens without due process Ignore laws and use fear to rule

The word is still treated like an exaggeration or misrepresentation. That ends here. Why? Because this U.S. presidential administration is an authoritarian government, prioritizing power over people.

The truth matters. And the truth is urgent. We stand up now because if it can happen there, it can happen here. It’s not the time to be a passive bystander.

WHAT TO DO Show up with one message: “You’re a fascist if…”

Finish the sentence. Bring your sign. Tell your friends. Sign our petition. Help us hold the line against normalization. Because when we as a society name it, we can fight it.

Why Vancouver? Because Trump’s fascist tactics don’t stop at the U.S. border - they impact us too. From economic coercion through tariffs, to anti-immigrant policies that strain our borders, to undermining democratic alliances like NATO, his actions directly affect Canada. These aren’t just aggressive politics, they mirror classic fascist strategies: domination, nationalism, and authoritarian control. And with Trump arriving in Canada for the G7 the very next day, we’re showing up to say: we see it, and we’re naming it.

Just commented about iluvit.ca having a sensitive range that you can buy in sample sizes

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

Carina Organics has haircare and body lines

Upfront cosmetics if you prefer haircare in bar form

Iluvit.ca for deoderant, they have sensitive skin lines and sell small sample tins so you can test before committing to a jar or tube.

Birchbabe has facewash in bar form

I like Satya Organics which I originally ordered to combat perioral dermatitis but now whack on as a lip balm before a run. It's also women and indigenous owned. They have a small travel tin (which you can refill if you get the home compost pouch) which doubles as a lipbalm

Recommend Mint cleaning products, I've used them for nearly 2 years or so now. Produced out of Ucluelet, BC and I get them from my local refillery place (The Source) or order in bulk direct for what isn't stocked near me
