Far Cry 3, 4, and 5 are games I've had a lot of fun with, at least. They let you pick how you approach most of the "free-form" stuff though story missions will have you do things in specific ways.

That is way more work to decipher than I care to do. What was the actual problem and why not make it a little easier to grok?

I'm pretty sure they shot it down because "1) we can, 2) no fun allowed, 3) fuck you". That seems to be their "corporate values" these days - or whatever the Suitspeak term is.

it completely ignores the collateral damage

I don't think so. I try to not be overly "conspiratorially minded" but I'd 100% believe in a millisecond that the "collateral damage" is the point all along here. Google is pushing constantly for more control and this is just another item in the long-ass list. After massive pushback on Manifest 3, they "cancelled" it a while back and now they're right back pushing it again.

If all it does it throw facts at you, damn straight it's dumb.

Could be sort of a "break-even" point? Assuming it's even true, which is a pretty big assumption. You could ask them for a source next time if you hear it often, because I've heard it precisely 0 times before.

I wasn't really referring to permanently mangling the iron. Taking care of seasoning is an extra thing, is all, and the seasoning can absolutely be ruined.

Thanksgiving is very American, but turkey is a common christmas dinner in the UK at least, and probably fairly common across Europe

Cast iron is nice, I recommended stainless because I assume someone who treats pans like this would ruin cast iron too.

Many of them will find some way to rationalize it. There was a documentary about an infamous series of experiments some of these geniuses set up - they were obviously consistent with a round Earth, so they dismissed it and started mumbling about mistakes in the experimental design and so on.

You can lead a horse to water, but horses can be intensely moronic animals.
