Pretty much the same as 😂 or 😭 in regards to laughing. The literal meaning would be "I'm dead"

No moderation isn't ideal on most sites, but I do not think moderation should be relied on more than people's choice to block people. My response to areas becoming toxic is avoid those areas, or, assuming you mean community when you say area, they would moderate themselves.

The latter, they prefer for everyone to be able to be a dick.

I think its totally feasible, people would just prefer it to magically be done for them (which I don't think is realistic).

It's impossible, and any effort towards stopping it will only further enshittify social media platforms. The onus should be on the user to block people who's speech they consider hateful.

Everywhere meets that criteria if you just block people you consider bigots and assholes.

The same as what many have said (blogs, news sites), but my best use case is YouTube! Deleted my account and get my subscriptions through RSS. The best part is it's actually much more reliable than the YouTube sub box, which is notorious for randomly not sending notifications or not showing new videos.

Exactly. If God operates that way, he is a HUGE asshat.

If anything, even if that was confirmed 100% to me, it would make me proud that I can use my conciousness to tell him to go fuck himself until and after he sends me to hell.

If I see someone I know (especially someone I know to have issues with self esteem) trying something like a new haircut, or asking a girl out or really anything that presents a social risk, I gain respect for them.

Heed some advice from Nelson Mandela:

I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

Personally, I would try to realize others might respect you more for confident behavior like trying new hairstyles instead of ridicule you if the hairstyle isn't the best for a few weeks.

What I tell homophobic religious people amounts to this:

“Man is obviously made for thinking. Therein lies all his dignity and his merit; and his all duty is to think as he ought” (Blaise Pascal, 1623-1662, Pensees)

If God created me with a mind that could never find faith in him, as he hasn't given me concrete evidence, that is God's perfect design. If God created homosexuals, they are of his perfect design. If I live a virtuous life, but (naturally, due to the way God made me), still get sent to hell for being a nonbeliever, why would I ever worship such a god? The same logic applies to the idea that God hates homosexuals.

If God created homosexuals just to send them to hell, that is no god I would ever worship, even for an eternity in their heaven.

It really is amazing for programming. I gave VS Code(ium) a chance as I hadnt used it in a while, and it feels like a frustrating black box compared to Emacs.

My favorite feature is Emacs being entirely self documenting, it makes it SO much easier to troubleshoot issues, make refinements, or just understand what's going on in your environment.

Orginally I used Doom Emacs, but, although being wonderful to work in, wasn't as easily understandable to me. I recommend anyone wanting to start an vanilla Emacs config starts here.

Exemplary youtube playlist by System Crafters that makes creating your emacs config from scratch not only more palatable, but arguably trivial. (At least up to the point he goes in the series).
