Thank you. I am definitely thinking of making a book, but not from the perspective of global monetary policy as with Bitcoin standard and Monero standard. But more from a personal perspective on how using privacy tools can improve your life. I tried to start but immediately came to the realization that i know nothing of the global economy haha.

A lot of the comments here are saying that a pineapple can configure their subnet to use 10.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x. Is there any other way to determine if an access point is compromised?

I hate fourth of july because of this. Fuck your declaration of independence, i piss on it. My dog hid under the bed. I fed her some chicken hearts to calm her down, and received many belly rubs.

What are some decent decentralized (hehe) methods that you know for that? And is the anonymity set large enough to compare with Wasabi/Samourai for these services?

[–] aldalire 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Coinjoin? Didn’t they take down Samourai and Wasabi which made this possible?

The blockchain is small enough for now to self-host on an old laptop. That’s what i did, 0 costs.

16tb for a monero node is likely overkill for now. But it would be nice to have more nodes with overkill storage, to accommodate any sudden increases in monero adoption that might increase the blockchain size rapidly

And yes you can mine on the device you’re running the node on, but it’s generally recommended to separate the two since running a node takes up CPU power that can be put into mining.

Here’s a good write up:

no i don’t think so

This is cool, i'll check it out. Are there any initiatives to somehow make a charity with Monero that gives directly to homeless people? That can be a great start to rebuilding the privacy coin narrative.
