If you press the hamburger menu button at the top it opens a sidebar that has a subscribe button as well!

It's already tiered, it's limited to 600 tweets if you are unverified and 6000 if you are "verified" (aka paid for a checkmark)

Yeah I don't see any issue with having conversations with each other even if the beehaw folks never see it

While larger, more general communities are thriving on the Fediverse - I'm missing out on the niche communities in c/[email protected]

Hard agree... Learning to communicate well with a cat teaches you most of this, and the rest becomes obvious when you realize how individual their personality and behaviour is compared to others of the same species.

My recommendation (assuming you have a normal @gmail addy and not a custom domain like I had) would be to use email forwarding. So you can leave your Gmail as is, but set it up (in the settings) to automatically forward all your email to your new protonmail address. Then you can gradually change the important contacts/sites to your new email at your leisure.

I do highly recommend buying a domain and setting up your own email address though, it gives you a lot more portability going forward. You can actually do a lot with your own domain, and it helps you maintain trust better.

I switched to ProtonMail and have really enjoyed it. I was using my own domain with Gmail so my email address didn't even change.

I'm sick rn (just a cold) and it's driving me crazy. I hate how you just have to pass time and wait to feel better, I wish there was something active I could do to speed it up. in c/[email protected]

Just woke up for day three but I can tell I'm past the worst of it now
