i was having a conversation with someone and they genuinely believed capitalism stopped existing in america 100 years ago and that we’re currently a socialist country because a “sociality” owns businesses rather than “private individuals”, plans the economy, distributes fiat money to industry, etc 😭😭 i guess the bourgeoisie expanding and becoming more powerful means they’re socialist now? even though class relations are the same? i’ve never seen politics like this before like they’re definitely anti-fascist and anti-capitalist but they definitely aren’t a marxist giving their economic analysis
