Photon can make requests through http, but it has to be manually specified (PUBLIC_INSTANCE_URL=http://discuss.tchns.de)

I regularly search for the term "photon" because I've found lots of people mentioning bugs and the sort outside the photon community.
phtn.app is the official one and will receive all updates instantly, so it might actually be more secure.
That will also get the post url from the home instance itself which is needed to federate posts.
