Great episode this article seemed to really psychically damage the ever unflappable Andrew (presumably because he has two real daughters).

Why don't I strap on my job helmet and squeeze down into a job cannon and fire off into Jobland where jobs grow on jobbies

I remember a podcast where Matt Christman talking about Iran said something like "THEY LIVE THERE!", like good or bad it makes sense for Iran to want their neighbors to be stable and to be aligned to them, not ISIS, or a US puppet or a failed state etc. Compared to the USA, UK, France etc

And like even for countries with terrible governments like Saudi Arabia or Jordan, Israel is a really dangerous wildcard to have next to you.

Definitely. Also in cities and towns they would use economy of scale and have dedicated bathhouses.

Medieval people would stink less than Romans as they actually had soap instead of perfumed olive oils.

Eleanor Janega talks about this a lot but being super stinky and not bathing is an early modern phenomenon. Medieval people washed and bathed as much as they could.

It also was used by various reactionary governments up until the 1970s. In fact the Paris commune symbolically burnt the guillotine as it was a symbol of oppression.

Still doesn't takeaway it's message now though.

There's also transition

re the cops bit this quote from Talia Bhatt really encapsulates it CW SA violenc3the transsexual is the Gendered Empire’s very own Vandal. She is the menace against whom any violence can be justified, both the failed man who can be beaten senseless and the failed woman who can be r***d with impunity, against whom no amount of harm is unjustifiable.

Obviously a lot going on that people here and on Bluesky have discussed. But if you cut everything but the first line it's a pretty true and funny roast of the USA and the West in General

Ok in Donald Trump's defense - fucking 14 year old girls was really only made a social taboo in the 1990's.

Like Polanski etc,

The one upside of transitioning my 30s is the fat redistribution filling in my wrinkles is better than any Botox etc, I look much smoother,

I don't think I'm cool but when I was in high school in 2000, a bunch of my peers were gathered excitedly around a library computer.

They said they were looking at the first image released of...and I misheard and thought they said "Snake"

I said "fuck yeah they're making a new Escape from movie?"

Then I saw Alan Rickman in robes. It was "Snape" and I deflated with disappointment.

I'm going to try to touch grass, exercise and read some books.

I had influenza b for two weeks and got so sick. All I did was lurk the internet and it's been really bad for mental health.
