Interesting I don't think I've seen anyone call it the best before. I loved the shit out of ff7/9/10 and was so excited for 12 and it was one of the first big gaming letdowns I can remember. Ive still had the heart to pick it back up.

I'm not sure why he finds it so hard, I think it has aged really really well. It doesn't really have many or any clunky difficult mechanics. Gameplay is fast(for a turn based jrpg), simple, doesn't require long explanations or a guide book, and you don't have to grind like other jrpgs as long as you kill everything on your way to the next story point.

It still looks good and the music is good too. Unless you just don't like 2d sprites or turn based combat even if it's easy, I will wager you'd still enjoy it.

Not just Buddhist but a sect generally considered a cult.

Camera controls or the lack of them? Ff7/8/9 had a fixed camera everywhere but the world map.

You know it's not the same person posting every time

Some people have moved passed thinking about it. Others have just started. Its a growing sentiment and more people are starting to feel it.

I'm still on my zenfone 6, and my next will be something sony. I don't really want a low-mid end phone but if the xperia 10 is the best I can get then that's what I'll get.

It wasn't actually a playstation controller though. It was a Logitech.

So is Paul McCartney.

That's just not true at all. Literally one of the most famous games ever made remade with modern graphics couldn't be successful? When squenix announced a remake, and the internet exploded, that is exactly the game everyone expected it to be. Even at launch day we still thought the story would be mostly unchanged.

I'm not arguing in favor of keeping turn based combat.

How exactly would keeping the original story have made a remake less successful? New players would have played it either way, and I find it very hard to believe that the number of fans of the original who would have avoided the game due it being "the same game" outnumber the number of fans who were sold a remake and didn't find out until half way through that this was a different game.

As I said in 2002: this story is awesome. But they have cubes for hands. We have the ps2 now. I hope I can play this game again someday without cubes for hands. This is not that game.

Still only cubes for hands.

I agree with you on the combat. That part was the one change I always wanted, and they at least did that part well.

Remake is the only game a paid full price to play day 1 last generation, and its also one of the few I sold back. Most be don't seem to mind but I can't accept the changes they've made to the story.

I am convinced no other characters are going to manage to stay dead either.

May ill pick up a used copy cheap someday.
