Far too many to list, but biking, mountain biking, owls, aquariums, gardening, amateur radio, and positive news, among others like NY Times Gift articles (also a sub)

Thank you! I believe it's a Western maidenhair (Adiantum aleuticum). They are hardy enough to survive snow.

They grow quite well in this climate, even in pots. After a year or two of getting established, they create massive root systems and then become gigantic like this one :)

Yeah, repairability is key!

Whatever you get, do lots of research on repairability. How easy is it to get replacement batteries? Are they using a proprietary charger with 5 pins, or an open source standard like XLR? Do they reuse battery standards like Juiced, or do they build proprietary batteries for each bike and generation?

Can it be serviced at bike shops (Aventon, Juiced, Grintech) or does it have things like proprietary bike spokes that take weeks to ship (ride1up)? How long do they plan on producing parts, like motors, sensors, etc. (if they are julet connectors, there might be aftermarket solutions)

These are the sorts of questions you may want to ask sellers when doing test drives at local ebikes shops, or online bike sellers.

As for recommendations, I really like the NYT's recommendation on the Haul ST:

https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-ebike-for-commuters/

If you can find a Juiced Ebike, I can also recommend them. They were recently bought out by Lectric. I have nearly 2,000 miles on my RipRacer and love it.

I hope Denver beefs up their protected bike lane infrastructure significantly.

In my experience, people DGAF about warnings, but will stay off sidewalks if there are safer options. Keep bikes/scooters out of sidewalks, peds and joggers out of bike lanes, and cars out of business/bike/ped areas, which should be at least 30% of your city.

The skyscrapers will pose an interesting challenge for eagles and orbital strategems. We'll really have to be mindful of collateral damage too, as we'll have NPCs as well.

Thank you! I'm going to give it a shot and see what happens. Perhaps I'll try one in fresh water and one in a planter with some saltwater.

The insurance people declined my claim because it wasn't parked behind a locked door. My fault that I didn't read the terms properly.

Insurance is a scam.

Could have been worse, could have been a medical insurance company.

Looks like he's wearing Depends, just like the orange menace.

800 million dollars? They raised $800,000,000 and it's still in alpha? What the fuck.

Also, I hate the trend of content such as ships releasing as a paid DLC, then later as an in-game grind. In the olden days, the ships were free in games like Elite. The only thing that cost money was actual DLC expansions. That trend was probably spearheaded by star citizen devs :p

The hiplok d1000 is a couple hundred bucks, but it takes at least 10 cutting discs to get through, and produces devastating ceramic dust which is sure to give any bike thief a terrible case of mesothelioma. If you are worried about your bike, I'd get one of those. You might also want to see if your city participates in a bike locker program, or summer bike valet services. Multiple cities in the Pacific Northwest do this, in the US and Canada.
