Hah, that's a fun one. Fixing it now.

The point is that one would think that Jewish people might have learned that mass murder is bad. That said, Israel seems to have forgotten so it's unsurprising that a right wing loon like Laura Loomer would also fail to understand the lessons of history.

The people doing this understand the consequences and see the as goals.

I love when people say "ackchyually you're wrong" without offering an alternative.

So, NYC gets about $100B in federal funds annually. I wonder how much they pay in taxes to the federal government. I'd bet they pay more than they get.

These satellites also support our weather forecasts by being assimilated into our weather models and with sea ice monitoring. These are old satellites but they still have value and haven't been replaced.

You'd think they would have rebranded.

Edit: Oh, they're dead and gone. Good, I thought some small portion had survived or something.

How about we change our regime instead?

How would I set this kind of thing up? Mainly, where can I find the lists? I can probably sort out the DNS settings.

Wow, that was a little strong given the subject. I'm not sure what I did to deserve being cussed at when I was just talking about electric kettles. Especially since I said I do use a kettle myself.

One reason that some Americans microwave water rather than use a kettle is that our electricity is half the power of UK electricity. It takes a lot longer for an electric kettle to boil here. That said, I do use a kettle when boiling water for tea.

I'm a white guy from a fairly non-diverse city. I was at a grocery store today where a cashier opened up their line to serve me and, I thought, the person behind me. As they were serving me, though, they put up their lane closed sign right in front of the black man behind me. The buy was just trying to purchase some tuna, bread, and peanut butter.

The cashier basically decided to serve me, a middle class white man, but refused to serve the black man behind me. I was so shocked that I didn't say anything. It is possible that I misunderstood the situation but it seemed so blatant.

What should I have done in this situation? Should I have spoken up? Would that have just been more embarrassing for the man who was being discriminated against?

Honestly, I'm still just in shock to see someone treated so poorly when they were simply trying to buy food for themselves. I recognize that means that I'm sheltered but I also feel like I should be able to use my unearned privilege to help others who are being discriminated against.

I keep running into issues where I'm unsure of which account I'm currently using. It would be nice if it were more obvious at all times. Two things that would help me are:

  • always display the current user somewhere, regardless of what content is being viewed.
  • allow setting different color themes for different users.

I use Podcast Addict and have recently noticed location-based ads in my podcasts. Adds that are local to my large town / small city. The app doesn't have location permissions, so how are the podcasts embedding localized ads?

I got lucky and this guy posed for me for about five minutes. I tried to get some in flight, but they're simply too fast for me!
