I second all of this, also recommend talking to your neurologist about Aimovig or other CGRP inhibitors, literally life-changing for me. 62% reduction in frequency and close to 80% reduction in severity of my migraines.

Before Aimovig, I ended up in the hospital with the worst migraine of my life. They gave me a cocktail of drugs that did absolutely fuckall for the pain and released me, just made it feel like every muscle in my body tightened up, which made the migraine pain even worse. The next day, I took sumatriptan and max dose of Tylenol, waited about 6 hours and did it again. Repeat a few more times and it got down to a manageable level, but I was out of commission for a week and a half before I felt anywhere close to normal.

I tried ubrelvy too, but it wasn't particularly effective for me

Agreed on Training Day.

I totally forgot about Gattaca, I watched that in school in like 6th grade. Fantastic movie

Thank you, doing better with time.

That's fucked man. I wouldn't blame yourself for trusting someone not to be a piece of shit. I'm glad you acted when you found out, and hopefully he faces consequence for his actions

Sorry to hear that bud. I recently stopped talking to my best friend and our friend group after their response to my wife's pregnancy and miscarriage. Basically made us feel like a burden while she was pregnant, and with two exceptions, the other 10 people said nothing after the miscarriage.

Sucks to cut contact after 15 years, but he still did nothing after I talked to him about this. Ultimately, I think it was for the best, but it still blows when your supposed support system fails you.

Woodworking or video games. Maybe both

Can we set an age limit on public office? You cannot tell me with a straight face that people that have been in office longer than a lot of their constituents have been alive are in touch with what is actually needed for their communities.

I put on my robe and wizard hat

Lmao, never knew that. Honestly, that makes it even more impressive to me

Granted, considering its origin, it doesn't deserve much respect

Can you elaborate on that?

Fantastic series. He gets around to explaining the magic system later on, but I like how he lets it come out more organically. He also just released a fourth book in the series a few months ago.

There's a prequel novella that's pretty great as well, recommend you check that out after you finish the first 3 books.

Rereading Codex Alera. I blew through the first book in a day, and thought I had the whole series because I had 5 books from the series on my bookshelf. Somehow, I have two copies of book 4 and don't have book 2. No bookstore near me had a copy, and the library had one at a different branch that would have taken a week to transfer, so I just ordered one on Amazon on Sunday. Should be here today, and I'll be off to the races.

Being medically disqualified for flight. I worked towards the goal of being a military aviator for over a decade, only to find out that my objective depth perception wasn't good enough. I almost went blind on two occasions before then, was one of the first in the country to get a new kind of corrective surgery to get to perfect vision, and never had issues with depth perception (could accurately determine distance out to about 6 miles, +/- about 50 yards, verified on radar). All of that, only to find out that because of the first event that almost blinded me as a child, my brain didn't develop objective depth perception the way it should have. The test where you're given a page and told to pick which circle pops out looks the same to me.

I honestly don't know if I would change anything that I did had I known sooner, because I did still get some positives from my time in the military (along with plenty of health issues), but it definitely would have given me pause.
