On #HuCardHuesday here’s “Afterburner II”. This is a 1990 port of #Sega’s classic 1987 “superscaler” arcade game, with conversion duties to the #PCEngine handled by #NEC Avenue. It’s a surprisingly competent port, playing better than some more powerful console versions.

On #MasterSystemMonday here’s “World Cup USA 94”. This is a 1994 football/soccer simulation game developed by Tiertex & published by US Gold. The game is played from a top-down perspective, & is licensed to the FIFA World Cup that took place that year in the USA.

On #SaturnDay here’s “Pebble Beach Golf Links: Stadler ni Chousen”. This is a 1995 golf simulation game, developed by T&E Soft and published by #Sega. Based around the Pebble Beach Golf Course in California, the game features extensive full motion video of player Craig Stadler.

On #HuCardHuesday here’s “1943 Kai”. This is a 1991 vertically scrolling shoot-em-up developed & published by Naxat Soft. The game has two modes, a port of the original 1987 arcade, and Kai mode which has alternative levels & music.

On #MasterSystemMonday here’s “Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi”. This is a 1991 action platform game developed by Sega R&D 1 & published by #Sega. It’s the first sequel to Shinobi & was released in Europe, Australia, Brazil, Mexico & Korea only.

On #SaturnDay here’s “Nissan Presents: Over Drivin' GT-R”. This is a 1996 racing game developed by Pioneer Productions & published by Electronic Arts Victor. It’s a localized version of “Need for Speed” for the Japanese market, with all the cars changed to Nissan models.

On #HuCardHuesday here’s “Yokai Dochuki” also known as “Tales of the Monster Path”. This is a 1988 port of an arcade platform game from a year earlier, developed & published by #Namco. The player must avoid various monsters, ghosts & demons armed only with a yoyo.

On #MasterSystemMonday here’s “Masters of Combat”. This is a 1994 one-on-one fighting game developed by SIMS & published by #Sega. The game was released in Europe, Australia and Brazil only, and is one of the rarer games for the #MasterSystem.

On #SaturnDay here’s “Magic Carpet”. This is a 1996 3D shoot-em-up developed by Bullfrog Productions & Krisalis Software & published by Electronic Arts. It’s a port of the 1994 PC original & has 75 levels - 45 from the original game & 25 from the expansion pack.

On #HuCardHuesday here’s “Xevious: Fardraut Densetsu”. This is a 1990 port of the 1983 arcade shoot-em-up, developed & published by #Namco. The game features 2 modes: the original game, plus the Fardraut mode which adds new levels and enemies.

On #SaturnDay here’s “Hexen”. This is a 1997 first person shooting game developed & published by Id Software. This runs on the Doom engine and is a medieval/fantasy version of Doom with some light RPG elements. The #Sega #Saturn port is considered better than the PS1 version.

I’m pretty sure that Phantasy Star Online isn’t even playable anymore, however it’s worth it for the stunning box art. A great display piece!
