The IRS thing (Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público in México) has been a thing for a while, the driver's license was new as for last year as far as I know.

I don't know about OP but in México when you get your driver's license, passport or file taxes, fingerprints and iris recognition are a must, no exceptions.

My mother. One of the best compliments I ever got is "You are NOTHING like her"♥️

Vocal little bugger hehehe. Oh I know, believe me. It was so hard to take that decision, heartbreaking but so full of compassion so she would not suffer anymore.

What a special bond it is to have a companion for so many years.

That is adorable. I love quirky dogs.

I love Muhummara paired up with lebanese Ka'ak (spelling?) It is one of my favorite combinations.

Oh that sound is precious right along the tippy taps of their paws going around the house.

Oh I do! I am just too technologically inept to not know how to upload images on Lemmy.EDIT: Just did it! Last time I couldn't do it but now it worked 😀 One of my favorite memories is when we brought home our kid from the hospital and seeing Tandi with a bewildered look on her face the first time the baby cried LOL she was so surprised by the sound.

Edit: Thank you all for your condolences and the beautiful snippets from your own furry friends. It is so special to be loved by an animal and love them back.

After nineteen years together, we had many beautiful memories and adventures together, but one of my favorite was when we visited the beach. She absolutely loved it and would run up and down chasing seagulls and barking at coming waves as happy as can be.

I will miss you forever, Tandi♥️

ETA: I have read and downloaded many of your recommendations and have had lots of fun reading them! You are such a welcoming enthusiastic bunch. Thanks a lot! Still looking for more suggestions in case someone wants to add to the ever growing list. So far this year I have read twenty seven books.

Looking for some good mystery novels/short story compilation, etc. Preferably no sci fi or futuristic stuff, no Stephen King. TIA.

FWIW just finished reading "We have to talk about Kevin" by Lionel Shriver. It was OK.

As stated above. I can go months without eating an egg, for example, and suddenly crave eggs benedict for breakfast everyday.

Good thing is my dietitian is aware of this executive dysfunction/quirk/habit and works closely with me to help me out planning meals in a way that works me.

Right now I am on a soup kick: Soup, soup, soup everyday, all day.
