I'm so glad to hear it!

I am reminded of the time in about 2005 when I was judging a karaoke contest in a shitty country bar and a guy in an Elvis costume stood up and said he was going to sing a song to heal the wounds of 9-11 and proceeded to sing a medley of Dixie and the battle hymn of the republic.
A civil war in The Villages, just think about it.
A village divided against itself cannot stand.
A war of retired brother against brother.
I can't put into words how much of a mindfuck it was to grow up and realize that the church in America tends to not actually do/believe in all the kind, generous, forbearing things I'd been taught as a child. It really spun my head around, and did the same for my childhood friends I'm still close to. I was so incredibly lucky to have people to go on that journey with, I know for others it's very lonely.
On some lebensraum they've acquired!
It is truly said that there's an emote for everything on our blessed Hexbear
ew.
The racism on display in that article is really something.
I like cooperative games! I'm the only one I know who liked the first iteration of The Captain is Dead (too complex, too many things to keep track of), but the sequel The Captain is Dead: Dangerous Planet has been a hit with every group I've tabled it. You're the crew of a spaceship and you need to gather the materials you need to escape the planet before the bugs get you.
Competitive games I love are Quacks of Quedlinburg, Clank!, Azul Summer Pavillion, Colt Express, Dune Imperium
I can't say that it made me feel better. More like I was confused in a way that went right into my bones.
You're going to heal the wounds of 9-11 . . . with songs . . . from that one time when the country was QUITE LITERALLY divided.
I'd had a few drinks, but I don't think that's why my head was spinning
