Chun-Li and Cammy, while I'm getting re-acclimated to the controls. I like super agile baddies and lots of kicks, so I've been having a lot of fun with Cammy and her Hooligan combo.

Thanks! The hardest part for me is not stopping to pick up a couple tallboys on my way home from work, but I managed to do it last night with little issue! If I can do it one night, I can do it again.

Nice, I'll try one of those! Are they carbonated? Fizzy, bubbly drinks have been decent substitutes for hard seltzers in my experience.

I've been struggling with moderate alcoholism for the past several months, with many attempts to quit or cut back. I'm currently 70 hours sober, and I'm trying to use alcohol-free sparkling water and Street Fighter to establish new habits. I suck at fighting games, but I've been wanting to pick up a new hobby and the newest game in the series is pretty fun.

CW to anybody who might be unsettled or scared by the sight of a tornado. Here's a storm chaser who captures footage of the tornado from its inception. It quickly wedges out and becomes a monster within a few minutes.

The weather is looking particularly dangerous tonight in the Mississippi valley. Stay safe, any comrades that live in the highlighted areas!

My real life has been shitty af lately, so I've been disassociating and playing in a GTA RP server and having a lot of fun.

A few months ago, I saw a post that showed a ton of the ridiculously reactionary takes by one of the American Communist Party guys online. I think it was Eddie Liger Smith. Does anybody have a link to that post? I came across someone shilling for the ACP, and I wanted to bring receipts that prove they're a bunch of Maga fash cosplaying as comrades.

I've spent a total of five minutes scrolling on Bluesky and I've only encountered liberals like George Takei and Hank Green.

Does the game have voice chat or was this all through text chat?

Currently dealing with the effects of depression zapping any joy or pleasure from things I normally enjoy. I just got home from work and want to play a game, but literally everything sounds awful. I booted up WWE 2K24 and it felt like a stupid waste of time. I turned on Street Fighter 6 and closed it before I even finished my first fight. I'm installing Tropico 6, a game I've had hundreds of hours of fun on, but the thought of actually playing it once it's done doesn't sound enjoyable. I don't want to lie on the couch and stare at my phone, and I don't want to go to bed, but I don't know what I actually want right now. Gahh.

Sometimes I miss the 2016 version of myself, where I would get a mild dopamine boost about funny jokes about the orange man, or seeing a celebrity endorse my favorite DNC war criminal - blissfully unaware of global politics, war, and genocide.

A war is raging in the Middle East, and Iran is on the brink of getting nuclear weapons.  Donald Trump is responsible for this dangerous development because his administration withdrew, in 2018, from the U.S.-Iranian nuclear deal that restricted Tehran's ability to make highly enriched uranium bomb material.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors in Iran verified that Tehran was in compliance, but then-President Donald Trump claimed that he, the self-proclaimed “master of the deal,” would get a better agreement.

He did not.

Of course it isn't Israel being belligerant af. It's evil Tehran and the Orange Man who are responsible.

I just wanted to vent about an online interaction I had with people in my local community.

I lost my pharmacy technician job last month because the company is going bankrupt, and I had an eviction hearing this week because I haven't found a new job yet and have no income to pay rent. Somebody in a local FB group today made a post about how they're happy that place went out of business because she found a new pharmacy that treats her better, and it kind of made me mad. I was salty and commented, "I'm glad you're happy hundreds of people lost their jobs (including me)."

Then I got bombarded with comments that included this gem from some white boomer lady: "Maybe if you had any discernible skills, you wouldn't have lost your job." That really pissed me off. Not only did the business going under have nothing to do with me or my alleged lack of skills, but I had just started training to become a certified pharmacy tech. I felt like I finally found a job that I was good at and enjoyed. It was one of the most tough and thankless jobs I've ever had, but I was genuinely good at it and received a lot of positive feedback from my manager and customers. It was such a good fit, that I want to try to continue doing this type of work.

I've been applying at a bunch of pharmacies hoping that I can find another opportunity to receive on-the-job training, but nothing has panned out yet. Now I'm staring down the barrel of eviction, and something about seeing a bunch of people ridicule my situation because I challenged the OP's post just makes me kind of upset.

Hey comrades, it sucks being in this position. I lost my job at the end of February, struggled with finding employment until May, found a job I really liked, and then they closed after working there for less than a month. So I've been without an income again for a few weeks, and I'm still looking for work.

Unfortunately, I fell behind on my utilities and woke up to my power being shut off. I need $350 to restore it, so I'm trying to gather money from different sources to try to make that happen. Anything towards that helps! Feel free to comment or PM me for any additional info you might want from me.

Thank you so much for reading. heart-sickle

Edit: So I was able to get my power restored by making a partial payment of $50 and committing to on-time payments of $50 for the next 12 months. So, the immediate crisis has been avoided. Now I just need to keep trying to find a job so it doesn't get shut off again next month lol.

Lmao, today got even funnier. Also, fuck Joe Manchin.

A 17-year-old kid started working with me, and he was talking politics with another co-worker. I was staying out of it, but then he asked me what I consider myself to be, politically. I hit him with, "I'm a pretty hardcore communist, actually." His jaw dropped and he laughed, and he was like, "No, really. What are you, actually?" When I told him that I was a Marxist-Leninist, he responded with, "Dude, that's terrible. Why?"

I'm normally not super open about my politics unless I gauge that someone is accepting to hear some theory, but I just wanted to fuck with this kid lol. I told him that the incentive for ever-increasing profits in the interest of a small group of elites is destroying the planet and exploiting people all around the world. He came back with, "You really need to read more. If you understood more about what you were saying, you wouldn't support such a violent ideology." I'm literally twice his age, lmao.

Then he asked me if I ever read 1984 :michael-laugh:

He asked what led to me becoming a Marxist. I told him that I used to be a libertarian like him when I was his age, but as I grew older and started learning historical materialism, my worldview changed.

We went back and forth a little over the next 20 minutes. I kept it cool and respectful because I wasn't super invested in debating him. But he was getting all flustered and started playing all the hits, like workers not being entitled to owning their work because the boss took all the risk. Humans are naturally greedy, so socialism could never work. Marxism is responsible for over 100 million deaths. I rebutted what I could when I felt like it, but I'm not a debate bro and I didn't really care what he had to say. I just thought the whole thing was funny.

My favorite part was his face when I told him that I don't support liberal democracy, and that a one party state is actually far superior. :che-smile:

My a/c is out and it's been getting over 90 degrees in my apartment, so I asked him to stop by and make sure my kitty was all good. I just got home a little while ago and went to pack a bowl, and my bag of weed paraphernalia was all tossed around. The ziplock bag was open and the rolling plate, grinder, bowl, lighters, and bud were thrown in there in a way I normally don't put them in. He's literally as evangelical conservative as you can get, and he's scolded his adult children for drinking or smoking weed in their own homes. So I cleaned up and put away any vapes, beer cans, lighters, etc. so he wouldn't see them. I'm really shocked he didn't bring it up to me, but I'm really pissed that he went through my cupboards and took all the stuff out. I just wanted him to stop by and check on my cat, but he invaded my privacy on top of that.

None of this really matters, I just needed to vent.
