Yeah this whole thing just feels like a huge trap for them to try and lure people back in. "Hey remember how fun r/place was? We're doing it again. Come on back! Please clap."

Long ago, a storm was heading toward the city of Quin'lat. The people sought protection within the walls, all except one man who remained outside. I went to him and asked what he was doing. "I am not afraid," he said. "I will not hide my face behind stone and mortar. I will stand before the wind and make it respect me." I honored his choice and went inside. The next day, the storm came, and the man was killed. The wind does not respect a fool. Do not stand before the wind.
The kbin Enhancement Script is a TamperMonkey script that lets you collapse comments like on Reddit, and gives you more control over the NSFW thumbnails (and all thumbnails in general). If you're not on kbin.social (you, OP, are, but other people like me are on different instances) you've got to remember to add your instance name to the list of targeted sites.

Yeah that's my big fear now that they're out of the game. They took some wacky and wild chances, but that also led to them developing some stuff that's industry standard nowadays. They had capacitive screens and wide angle camera lenses before Apple, and while it didn't "fold" like the Pixel Fold does, I believe the Flex line was the first phone to have a flexed/flexible screen - back in 2015.
Now that they're gone, I am afraid it's just going to be Apple and Samsung copying off one another with diminishing returns.
I deleted all my post history and burned my decade-old account to the ground. I have been actively avoiding everything Reddit, including search results, which has made the internet a bit of a nightmare to try and navigate.
