I'm new to Lemmy and I wanted to be more active than I formerly was on Reddit. I don't really have a clear idea of what I want to do with this community, I just would like to talk with other foreigners living in Japan.

You can quite clearly tell when the Reddit apps stopped working on this graph of lemm.ee traffic 📈 in c/meta@lemm.ee

The one I feel truly sorry for is the 19-year-old. Still practically a child and can't fully comprehend risk so of course he trusts following his father into a death trap

I think this is not talked about enough. We also won't be able to see deleted posts and comments because of the API pricing. in c/reddit@lemmy.ml

Yeah it makes certain subs like AmITheDevil pretty much unusable because so much of what gets shared there ends up deleted

This is exactly why TERFs are shooting themselves in the foot with their gatekeeping. That isn’t to say that the other stuff they do isn’t stupid

I also couldn't get into Witcher 3. I don't have anything against other people liking it, I just couldn't do it. For one, there's so much rape talk even early in the game that really put me off. It felt like cheap world building.

I think the key element here is that mods hold a lot of power and feel like they’re actively being pushed away by reddit policy
